The Tamiya vintage nostalgia I wish they would do is the Toyota Hilux 4x4 from the early 80s.....I would be all over that..!!! ❤ The BBX is a fabulous buggy 👍👍👌

My first RC was a Rough Rider back in 1980 so when this came out, I had have it. Totally agree, harks back to the retro days. I got mine 6 months ago and still haven’t gotten round to building it. I did get the alloy front hubs, servo mounts, slipper clutch and a full set of wheels & tyres so I could put the spare on. I think the mount is in the kit already.

The upgrades that I chose that may not be necessary were the slipper clutch, and the TA06 gear differential. The one upgrade I felt was needed would be the aluminum servo mount. It's a fun build, hope you enjoy it!

I love my BBX, the only thing I am not fond of is that my local track requires slicks to run practice or anything, and the only thing you can really use are buggy fronts all around on this car. All the buggy rear wheels are too deep to the hex. Need some serious offset to overcome that. That said, I was running it on an oval the other night and...it was doing surprisingly well!

Hi Gavin, this is a very fun build. You will enjoy building this one. Cutting out the body is a real pain. This is a very good to drive Tamiya car. It works really well. If possible get the slipper clutch for this car. Also, you will need a low profile servo for this car. Thoughts?

Mine is going Camel and Black using your dad's Fox as inspiration Gav. I picked up my kit in Japan from Super Rajikon when i was there for my 50th so it has special meaning. I'm using CC02 black rims. Just spent the weekend RIT dying the chasis so all the parts are black now. Not sure why Tamiya chooses to make the chassis plastics in 50 shades of grey.

I have one of these, and it is in many ways very good, but I didn't enjoy the build experience. It could just be me, a bit of performance anxiety.....
I found the design to be a bit more complicated than what I usually like, I guess some Tamiya's are like that. The body was a pain to cut out, and I hadn't painted anything for years, so yeah nerves. I felt the same way with the decals. Having said all that I didn't finish and run it and it is pretty good. I just don't love it yet.

Also, any profit's will go into future build content and I have a massive RC project in the plans that will be the channel build of the year!
