The hurt on Krystle's face at 2:19 when Alexis tells her she doesn't have the same bond through children with Blake as Alexis did is excellent delivery of emotions without saying a word. Also, I love Alexis change in facial expression at the end from genuine surprise to smug satisfaction at Krystle's put down of Blake. Class acting. I think both actresses were at their peak in S2 before the show evolved to OTT campiness!

The writing on these early Alexis scenes was very well done and cemented the relationship triangle of Blake, Alexis, and Krystle. It never felt strained and came across as fully authentic.
This was my jam 1981-1982. I was 10 years old and had no business watching this. But I was allowed and LOVED it. Dynasty ended the year I graduated HS 1989! Great time being a teenager & growing up in the 80’s. Joan & Linda were fantastic! Their chemistry was power couple. The writing season 1-4 were the golden years. Ha, memories. Good times.

Alexis is not one to spill all her secrets at once. She uses them as ammo, revealing one after another only under the right circumstances. This wasn’t the time to reveal everything and she knew it. Sure, the Adam and Amanda characters might’ve been written into the show later, but it’s not out of character for Alexis to want to keep Adam’s kidnapping and Amanda’s existence to herself. Might’ve been a way of coping for her to not acknowledge them as well since she didn’t know Adam’s whereabouts and she wanted Amanda’s identity to remain secret. Sometimes it’s more painful to know your child is out there sonewhere raised by other people than to simply presume they’re dead. Had she mentioned Blake and her had four children, it would invariably lead to Krystle asking questions and that wasn’t something she desired or needed in this scene.

As for Amanda, she wanted to keep her a secret. Amanda herself had to force the confession out of Alexis that she was her mother. Also, what would she have said to Steven and Fallon about these siblings at this point? This is actually completely plausible. What is less realistic is how Blake can reasonably banish Alexis from her own children's life and why would do nothing to fight it.
It's hard to believe Alexis would be content in that studio. We are supposed to believe she slept on a single bed?? And believe all her clothes are in that armoire??
She has many charming paradoxes. I imagine she might have put things in storage or with friends, and treated this plan to infiltrate the estate as a lovely summer holiday; So she packed a few simple yet beautiful clothes for painting, hunting and visiting her children while subtly antagonizing her foes at every possible chance.

Alexis looks really good in her Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. Pirate blouse alert! Alexis wore a lot of bibbed and puffy blouses in seasons 2 and 3. It would make a good drinking game. I do not, however, like this hairdo.
Is it just me, or did Joan Collins gain a good bit of weight after this season? I was surprised how trim she looked. I like her in the jeans and dressed down some. I got tired of the over-the-top outfits that became her usual look. All of this proves sometimes less is more.
I never watched this show . I consider it a bad ripoff of Dallas. That being said I love the clothes they wore and I peek in once in awhile to see them, especially the always fabulous Joan Collins.

They actually made Dynasty to compete with Dallas on the other network. So much so, the original name of the show was "Oil" as it was a trend for all these nighttime soaps to have one-word names. They finally decided on Dynasty. However, even though they had the same concept, they were very different shows. If not, I would've been watching both simultaneously.
Krystal is so "middle class" but not in a good way, staid unimaginative and well.. to be frank, wooden! Whereas Alexis is vivacious, sleek and witty... like two gay men in drag! Of course, Krystal is American, Alexis is pure British class

The way Alexis walks while Krystle is talking and looks at her, is such good acting, of making suspense build up, without saying anything.
