Every rendition of Mr. Auger's work is absolutely perfect, a true god of musical genius.
One of the finest keyboard players ever......overlooked at his time. I saw him in Montreux, Switzerland, 1969 Jazz Fest, we kicked all the chairs, tables to the walls, and danced, swayed to this magic...and smiled.
His face expressions say it all. He feels every single note to his bones. That is why Brian is probably the best Hammond organist ever and hope he'll be around for a long time to see him once more playing live.
When my time comes, play me out with this tune.
I have followed Brain from now until way back to the get go, I'm talking about Brain Auger infinity plus Julie Driscoll. Everytime he would play in L.A. at the Whiskey and other venues, I would gather me mates and go see him at the gig. He always shook the rafters, rocked the house and played a great gig. He is real real road warrior and completely dedicated to his music. I think its so cool he has engaged and plays with his children. Rock on Brother Brian. We love you madly.
I saw the OblivianExpress at Ebbets Field . in Denver. Never heard of him. Went with some others who were fans. Sat justt few feet away from Brian. The best way to discover such a massive unknown artist. What a performance 👏

Brian Auger is A Master, al little soul , mixed with rhythm and Blues,I know Wes Montgomery but Auger made it his own right here flowing with the Keyboards..
The last 40 seconds gave me the chills as if I traveled in time. I don't even know what to type that was so good.
Beyond brilliant.
The drummer in this arrangement slows the pace and brings out a deeper vibe and the sweat of the keyboard for a soul ride. After all this song is about the soul of Wes Montgomery. Sunsets over water can get lost in time.

Brian Auger is totally under rated, at least in The U.S. Maybe because of his jazz/fusion sensabilities. My second favourite version after the original composer Wes Montgomery....

In the sixties I would mow lawns in Sun City Center with battery headphones tuned to WFSO.
At sunset they always played this song because it is eleven minutes and the FCC had to let the song finish ten minutes after sunset.
