I think they waited for a long time, and have been hesitating now because it's awkward for them, but if they open the lines of communication, they will know that I'm easy to talk to, and that I will reserve judgement and listen to them. But at the same time they will have to listen to me, and I will be direct about these are the issues in my life, and he will have to decide if he can deal with these things before we take the next step. I'm not going into it without discussing these things, because although they are not major issues, for some people it could be a drawback, and for others no big deal.
