- Ahh this brings back all the happy feels! 24 hours with our newborn twins! You'll get a glimpse at our feeding schedule, my pumping schedule, how we set up the house to make things easier with them and how my hubby and I tried taking turns to sleep a little bit.
I shot this back in August 2020 when they were just two weeks old. They were so tiny and we had so much going on. I am a Realtor so I was right in the middle of the busy season and still working, we also Dr appointments for the twins because of their reflux and latching issues and we decided to refinance our house in the middle of it all because rates got super low. 🤪 We are crazy but some how we made it work and life with these two just keeps getting better and better! 🥰
*Also in this video you will see that we had our son circumcised. We consulted our doctors and each other and are happy with our decision. I know this is an emotionally polarizing topic with strong views and each side. On my page I support differing opinions, I support different cultures, different parenting styles, different beliefs, most of all I support MOTHERS! We are all doing our best! My sister had twins a week ago and she would have me watch videos so I can help her so I can prepare for my future. It's nice being an auntie of the two. She says lots of sleepless nights but so many precious moments. I'm in my teens but watching your videos with my sister really prepares her mentally for the cuteness overload and sad moments but also prepares me for my future. Thank you!
Aww yay I’m so glad that you found it helpful! My nieces are 13 and 18 and they are so incredibly helpful!! They had never taken care of a baby before and now they watch them all the time for me and the twins are obsessed with them. You’ll be the best Auntie!!

I have twin boys. My advice to you is listen to your instincts. What feels right to you is right. What feels wrong is wrong. Please do not let someone to tell you what to do. You are the mother. Plus having the same gender is also easier. It starts to get easier when they are 3 years old. The very best of luck to you.

Thank you! That's what I thought too! They wanted me to try to get her weight up because she had lost so much after birth but she ended up doing it naturally with nursing so she wasn't really hungry for the pumped bottles they had me offer her. Now she's a happy healthy chunky baby! 🥰

My husband and I are very much happy with our decision. He actually didn't cry at all from the process. We found out later those that have seen my other videos know that both of my kids have dairy intolerance and acid reflux because I protected BOTH of my children by paying attention to their cries and cues. Thats why he was up crying after every feeding. My daughter was the same way until we got them both on medicine and I went off dairy. I respect your beliefs but mine are obviously not the same as yours and that does not mean that they are wrong and that does not mean that I am not a good mother or not protecting my child. I have a lot of trust in our doctor and her guidance. My son is a very happy healthy baby boy and will continue to be that way!

My son had reflux, doctor gave him special powder mixed with his baby milk. It really helps. They can use it from new born up to 6 months old and with breast milk.

I have 3 brothers, and I’m the only sister in my family. I’m good with babies and I also love babies. I babysat a lot of newborns. Im going to be babysitting newborn twins on monday. And I’m super excited because I’ve never babysat newborn twins or even triplets before..

Lol thank you! And it was SO much easier when they were little. It was still hard and that's why it's not the best quality. But now that they are toddlers I'm so behind and wish I kept up with it way more. It's amazing to look back on. But when you're Momming 24/7 it's hard to pick up the camera as you know haha.

That is so exciting!! Biggest advise is stick to routines and a schedule! Follow taking cara babies on instgram she has a lot of great tips for schedules. Congrats you're going to do great!! 😍😍 Enjoy the newborn phase I know everyone says this but it does go by so fast with twins everything is a blur!

Hi! I’m wondering what breast pump system you use? I love the idea of pumping directly into bags and using the skeleton bottles for feeding but I can’t seem to find it anywhere! We are 11 weeks pregnant with twins and trying to get all of our ducks in a row as early as possible! Also, what are some other must-haves for twins??? I feel like we’re going to forget so many things!!!

I will be doing one next week on all the items I used for both. I got the Medela Freestyle pump so that I could walk around and not be glued to an outlet.
Must haves: Twin Z nursing pillow, two swings or bouncers, a sound machine, swaddles, tons of receiving blankets that I used for burb clothes because my twins spit up A LOT and if you live on two floors then the twin nursery pack and play is awesome. It's an extra place for them to nap during the day and doubles as a changing station. And now that they're grown out of the bassinet toppers I use the pack and play outside for them to play in while I'm doing projects around the yard.
I had similar issues. If you weigh your baby before you nurse and then immediately when you finish, you’ll know how much she is getting from breast feeding

What swings do you have them in? Expecting twins and my mind is blown that they are sleeping three hours only at 2 weeks old. I can only wish mine do that because my toddler did not sleep well as a newborn at all

question- in the beginning when the baby is sleeping, why wake her up to feed her as opposed to waiting till she has woken up and is presumably hungry?
googled it and answered my own question. since they need to feed frequently they can "oversleep" if it means they're missing meals
Yes exactly. Ours had us do this until they gained a certain amount of weight where our Dr thought they should be at and then they said if they sleep through one feeding at night you can let them. By that point my kids ended up being so used to their 3 hour feedings they woke up on their own.

Welcome that's for watching my channel! I can't remember exactly but I think once they started to get more mobile like rollings, sitting up and wiggling too much we put them away. It feels like we used them for a really long time since we used them daily but it was probably until 6months or so...

I let his dad decided what he thought was best so that’s what we did. He felt it was best for hygiene. 💕 We will have lots of strong conversations on how to deal with bully’s if that ends up being the case so I’m not worried.

Why allow the person who has no foreskin decide circumcision. It's so that he won't be reminded of what he lost at birth.

My sons are now grown men. I REALLY struggled back when they were first born whether or not to have them circumcized. I really agonized over the decision. (Their dad was of no help because he left it entirely up to me. 🥴🤷🏻♀️) I've always been a holistic person. That's why deciding to have them circumcized was so tough Then, one of my son's circumcision became infected. 🤦🏻♀️ (Luckily it was minor and cleared up quickly.)
The subject of circumcision came up not long ago. I told my son's how I agonized over whether or not to circumcize them. If it's any consolation, they BOTH said they were glad that I had them circumcized and probably would've felt a bit awkward if they weren't.
Your babies are adorable! It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since mine were that little. Seems like just yesterday! Now I can't wait for grandbabies! 😁(Unfortunately I think it's still gonna be awhile, though. Both of my son's want to wait until their student loans are paid off, etc. Sensible but I'm impatient. 🤣)

But I did as much research as I could too and we had longs talks about it. This mom guilt thing is so real so I really appreciate the positivity and support!! Can those milk bags be reused?
The company says no. But I know a lot of us that use them do reuse them. I typically threw them away if the milk was ever frozen just because I felt like the milk sat in them longer. But if I pumped and fed the baby the fresh milk from the bag I would rinse the bag with really hot water and soap and let dry and reuse it. Totally your preference but I think it's not considered sterilized so that's why they say not to. They are super nice sturdy bags though so I like them either way!

They are they Kiinde bottle system! It’s really nice because you pump directly into the breast milk bags and then just attach the bags to the nipple. So there’s no transferring. I will say it really only makes sense for moms that need to pump a lot.

I’ve heard fraternal twins are genetic so you might just have them! 🥰😍 They are so amazing but I will say I do get mom guilt from not being able to give lots of individual attention to one or the other some days but I think that’s normal for anyone with more than one kiddo.
Why are babies woken to feed them? I keep seeing this now. I don't remember doing this, surely they wake up if they're hungry? Is it because they were born pre- term, or is it just something else new?
Yes they were born at 38 weeks and they said since they lost weight at birth (which is common but our daughter Emilia lost more than normal) they wanted us to wake them until they gained enough to be back at their birth weight. They said often times babies that small want to just sleep and sleep and will sleep through hunger. So once they hit birth weight which was I think about a month old we didn’t have to wake them but by then they woke themselves pretty much every 2.5-3 hours wanting to eat.
My GOD how scary trying to get her to eat more……..Your babies are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL……..
It wasn't too bad thankfully she was gaining at a good pace. 💕 I was very thankful that it wasn't worse! And thank you!!!
I just want to say that it's not medically necessary to have your boy babies circumcised and it's painful and sucks...... but you're a awesome mom and your babies are beautiful ❤️ and God bless you and your family and may you have many wonderful days!👼🦋

Aww hang in there!! It’s tough but soon they’ll at least start skipping one feeding! 😅 That extra hour of sleep is gold. Also see if a family member or your spouse can let you sleep in at least one day a week. I did that and it helped sooo much knowing I had a sleep in day coming.

Thank you for asking - I knew I kept all their doctor visit summaries for a reason 🤣 Everett our son weighed around 6lbs 10oz and Emilia weighed 6lbs 13oz she weighed more when she was born but had a hard time gaining weight so we had to supplement pumped bottles for her and do weight checks every few days for the first few weeks due to her not being able to latch very well. Now they both gain lots of weight and eat great and Everett has passed his sister and weighs about a pound heavier than her.

My son peed alot his whole time he was in diapers so its a boy thing. And I had to change his clothes and bed covers all the time.❤❤
I may be too late but I used a piece of gauze and put Vaseline on it and onto the circumcision area so it's not in the diaper.. so then I never had problems with pee not staying in the diaper.. 😊

Thank you! We ended up doing that after sooo many peed through diapers! I was actually shocked our pedi didn't suggest that from the beginning. She was like "lather the diaper full of vaseline!" Which basically made it waterproof lol.

Just wondering how come the doctor didn't circumsize Everett when he was first born? I'm a Mom of 2 grown up boys (they are 53 and 51 yo). You really are lucky gurl friend having your hubby at home to help as well as your Mom. Only person that helped me was ME. LOL Much love and you take care.
I didn't ask if we could do that and I don't know if we would have been ready for that. We needed a few days to settle in and talk about it all first. You are a super Mom!! And I know I felt - and still feel - very very blessed to have had my husband get a long paternity leave and to have my Moms help. She stayed the night with us for the first few nights and when it was time for her to go home (even though she'd be coming back the next day) my husband was like "Wait what she's leaving WHY!?" 🤣
@@CarlyPederson I remember when I was in the labor room they gave me the circumsize papers to sign. But that was back in the dark ages (1967 and 68). But every doctor is different. Boy, how many times I've heard that over the years. Love you channel.
