LOL, we have one. Been in the shop making "improvements" for over 10 years. It eventually will be our golf trip vehicle. We have the side bath rear bedroom.

The powertrain is 100% Toronado with the 455 CU engine and the sidewinder transmission, connected to the engine by a mesh chain. The Toronado was originally assembled on a dedicated assembly line in Lansing, MI; I used to walk by that line every day, in the late 60's early 70's. It was the most hand-built car in all of GM. The assy line was off in one corner of the huge Olds main assembly plant. The engine and transmission were mounted on a cradle/sub-frame, then the Toronado body mated to the powertrain. Periodically, an engine/tranny/frame set was assembled, but pulled off the line, and never installed in a Toronado. That powertrain unit was then diverted and shipped to the site where the GMC RV was assembled. Voila, the powertrain was installed in the RV. So all GMC RV's of this vintage were running GM Olds Toronado powertrains from Lansing, MI.

You forgot to mention the state of the art air ride suspension.. Was quite the thing when it was introduced.
    Nice bus.

I know its sold, but it was awesome price. I am old enough to remember when they came out. Space Age! Used the Oldsmobile Toronado front transaxle and 455 V8. Someone else on here talked about the air bag suspension. That's on all high end RVs today. It was way ahead of its time. One just sold for 150,000$ (said it was a frame off resto) with up to date RV gear. Now that I am old enough to own one, they are small and I don't think so. I see a group in Atlanta (I think). They call it a co-op. Rich or poor, if you own one you can join and work it out with the craftsmen (and each other) to rebuild it. Their is another on YT, the frame was Swiss cheese. Almost got all new steel and it was done in a driveway.

We had one of these brand new back in the day when I was a kid; barely even knee high to a grasshopper. These GMCs were, ... and still are super nice!! Yes, you are VERY correct @ 3:55 ...

Different floor plan from earlier ones. They had a double bed where the bathroom is at the end and the bathroom on the side before it on the left. Storage on the right in front of the bedroom. This one seems to have more sleeping capacity and less storage than the original.

Cabinet doors are solid walnut, the suspension system is not the old system but rather the newer Ekectro Level II. Model is a Royale Rear Bath. Restored versions are worth a lot of money because there never has been a more unique type of Motor. Home.

Nice looking RV. I'd buy one if I had someone to share the experience with and responsibilities that go with owning such a vehicle.

That Video and Price was from back in 2016 in the good old BC days (Before Covid) That same motor home would bring three times that price in 2022.
