HPU Facilities Video 2019

Our vision of a unified downtown campus is close to being a reality. We’re moving all of our colleges to downtown Honolulu, which means closer proximity between colleges that will result in more interdisciplinary collaboration and hands-on experiences. Close proximity to many of the state’s largest hospitals, clinics, businesses, and government offices improves internship and post-collegiate job opportunities for our students - and informs market readiness of our programs. Downtown Honolulu is not just where our campus is located, it’s our classroom.

The video is deceiving. They are discussing 3 different locations (plaza), which you have to walk on foot, cross the busy street to access the 3 different locations. These are rooms the school rent in other nearby locations downtown. That video you see in the beginning is not HPU. Only a small part of that oceanfront is HPU. Your classes you will be in three different locations, you have to walk in the hot Hawaiian sun (no parking unless you are willing to pay 30dollars or more daily) to classes. There is a $10 parking but you don't want to move your car from there to go to the other locations. You have to walk through traffic to all those three different buildings. Show an aerial view HPU of how you facility is setup downtown.

Hi Paul,
The area that juts out on the pier, Aloha Tower Marketplace, is a mixed-use space, meaning we lease some of the units to various restaurants and retail shops. However, the majority of the facility is occupied by HPU. It is a .5 mile walk to Waterfront Plaza where HPU has several classrooms and a .3 mile walk to Pioneer Plaza, home to HPU's College of Business and College of Professional studies. Yes, the downtown campus is spread out, but it's less walking than on larger, closed-off campuses.

@@hpu I walk this area all the time. I work across from your school and my daughter used to attend your school. You failed to mentioned the traffic hazards and the route the students take to go from building to building. Yes the distance might be correct, but you have to walk all the way down to the light to make a left and cross the street.
