I just found your floss tubes because Of Whilst Iris Naps. Really interesting and funny videos! I absolutely loved the Applebee sampler you showed earlier (binge watching of course) hope you reproduce that some day. Glad your hubby found his key in his boot! Thank you for making these videos for us to enjoy!
I look forward to your Sunday morning briefing. You are so creative and thank you for sharing all your ideas. Love the With thy needle spool charts. Hope we can get them in England soon. Can't find them yet. Would love to study them 😍

Thank you for your video. Lots of great finishes, and progress on WIPS. So interesting on the history of Mary. She was quite global, for her time! I'm always interested in your dyeing efforts. I went and bought those fabric paints a while back, but still have not yet dyed anything. I'll get to it as soon as my studio is done! Take care and happy stitching!
Great video and all your finishes are so nice! Could not get over how much I loved "Mary" sampler that you showed last week and can not get over how young she was to have done such a great job....love it. Have a great week ...Gail
Loved the story for your Mary sampler.I dyed fabric with onion skins a few years ago. They were brown skins and I simmered for 30 min. Then dunked the fabric and left it until it was a deep orange then tea dyed. I stitched halloween designs on it, They are still perfect. I live on Spain so my onions are sweet Spanish onions, don't know if they are the same where you are. Enjoyed your video, and love that drum! Until next time happy stitching. Oh, I think I added viniger and salt to set the dye.😊

Hi Michelle, I'm am very pleased you were able to learn so much about your little sampler stitcher. Pink, purple, freedom or study. Good luck with your cabbage dye experiments !
Isn't that amazing that car keys and lost things show up in the weirdest spaces? Also, nice lipstick. That color looks great on you. I love hearing about the history of the stitchers that have done the samplers. Thanks so much for sharing. Your videos are always so informative and interesting and I love watching them. If I ever get to the UK, I will definitely look up the Patchwork Rabbit and have to go to Hobby House. Speaking of spools, did you know that if you buy Lori Holt rick rack it comes on a medium spool that one could use for cross stitch?
For some reason it never occurred to me to iron on the interfacing before sewing on buttons & trim. How can something so obvious have escaped me? Thanks so much for mentioning that & my next pillow finish thanks you 💖
I do fancy the idea of using natural colours to dye fabric. I used natural dyes to colour eggs for Easter and they did come amazing! But the idea of using the slow cooker is a game changer! Study
Hi Michelle, watch Arne and Carlos, sit and knit for a bit. They just showed a video on a woman naturally dying yarn. You might get some tips from her. I think it was shown last Wednesday. Good luck. Van
I love all the information on Mary's sampler. Amazing that one of your subs. through relations served with her father! Sad about Margaret sampler😪.I look forward to both of your charts😁. Purple, Pink Freedom😜. (Hopefully got it right this time). You must be very proud to have started the tag swap. Glad your partner found his keys, oh my word that could have turned out so differently. Take care
The history information regarding that sampler is fascinating, it always amazes me that these little tiny girls stitched such beautiful pieces. I’m also so interested in your dyeing fabrics from natural elements such as onion skins. The indigenous people used to make dyes from the wild blackberries that grow in the Pacific Northwest and even use the brambles from the blackberry bushes to make dyes. Beets would also provide a strong colour. I always enjoy your videos and look forward to your next. Stay well!
Hi Michelle, another great TH-cam video. I really enjoyed hearing about Mary Smalls sampler especially as she stitched it while living in East Wemyss. I live in Fife so East Wemyss is not far away from me at all and it’s also just along the coast a bit from the Wemyss School of Needlework at Coaltown of Wemyss. The school was founded a few years later than when Mary stitched her sampler to teach young girls needlework skills. The school is still there and is part museum part school and I’ve been fortunate to be able to take a class there. Apologies for rambling I just found it interesting that she is almost local to me lol!
I did contact the Wemyss School of Needlework to see if she was in their records anywhere but they didn’t get back to me. It doesn’t look like she went back to Scotland although I’m not sure yet when she left 😄
Your finishes are lovely Michelle. I want to go and grab my Agnes Platt chart and start the bee skep one! I do love the sampler you bought. The colours are just so lovely. Nice haul too!
Hi Michelle - That red cabbage dyeing is so intriguing! I look forward to seeing the results. Thank you for another interesting episode, my Sundays would not be the same without them. Study pink freedom. xx

Always a delight to find a new video from you on Sundays... just like clockwork. Thank you. You are always so inspiring. Glad you like the charts. I'm not sure that you saw my Instagram post showing Sampler Maker made into a drum. I'll message you a photo later. The same can be done with the other designs. I thought you recently showed something similar to a bobbin/spool that you made from a bamboo cup and wood disks. Is that right? Also Daniele Zara in Italy is going to make bobbins to accommodate the design. He sells on Etsy. You can also make a pillow or frame the design. Or how about simply display it on a table or hanging out of a basket? How cool that both Christine and Jacob were able to locate your little sampler stitcher. Hope you have a great stitchy week and can perhaps get in your uninterrupted bath.
Hi Ellen! Thanks again for the charts. I’m so looking forward to stitching them. I do have lots of bobbins ready to use so I can’t wait. I did show a homemade one but I think it’s too short for one of yours. I meant to mention your spool maker. I’ll make a note to mention them next week. Have a lovely week Ellen 😁
I love that you're able to find some of the history regarding the sampler. It's especially nice to know you have other stitchers/flosstubers that are willing to research and share what they've found with you! It's a fabulous community to be a part of. Oh, glad the car key was found!

Interested to see how it turned out in your slow cooker. Your stitching is beautiful. I’ve never tried stitching on linen. Nearest I’ve got is evenweave. Bit scared of it to be honest. And can you manage without your lamps and magnifiers? I cannot. Even perfect vision would not help me in candlelight. Thank you, Michelle.
I am going to chart her and I think I might explore putting her on Etsy for a small charge. It’s not something I’ve done before so I need to check out a few things. I have a shop already set up so it shouldn’t be too difficult 😄
I flipped through an organic dyeing the Colonial Williamsburg way book when I was at Colonial Williamsburg, VA last week. One recipe used rancid human urine. How on earth did they get the smell out of the dyed fabric and did it return from body heat? I’m sure you won’t be trying that one…lol! I can’t wait to see the color you get from the red cabbage.
Please share your recipe for red cabbage dye, I’m dying to try that as I need a reddish color but I’m thinking it may turn out to be pink. Can’t wait to hear.😊

I love the idea of dyeing with natural elements. I've ordered books on dyeing from my library but the problem I have are corian sinks! I'm afraid I will ruin my sink with the dye. I probably won't have that problem with vegetables etc. Would love to stitch Freedom!

I love the idea of dyeing with natural elements. I've ordered books on dyeing from my library but the problem I have are corian sinks! I'm afraid I will ruin my sink with the dye. I probably won't have that problem with vegetables etc. Would love to stitch Freedom!
Hello Michelle. Pink. Study. Purple. Freedom. Another great video. I really like hearing about the history of the samplers, your new sampler is beautiful and to think it was stitched by a girl so young it's mind blowing. Is there any book's that you would recormend about the history of samplers? Take care xx
Hello from CaNada 🇨🇦 . Study the sampler, Plus it’s signed!! How fun is that! Im a new subscriber and a new flosstuber! I would be honoured if you came over for cross stitch entertainment! Cheers 🥂
Pink, purple, what colour will be next in your dye study?
