I do remember hearing more hip-hop related music being played like Eminem, Big Pun, Big L etc. But no one considered this tune gay, atleast not when I used to listen to it in the morning on the way to school, not sure about todays generation.

Wow, I randomly came across the song "Chocolate Boy" (2001) by the Taiwanese singer Yuki Hsu last week. What I didn't know is that it was a remake of this song. I instantly liked the song, and it did indeed felt familiar. It was common for artists to buy songs and remake them, but how to know ? Anyways it has a very beautiful music video. And is a nice remake.
