Pyari beti, beautiful mushahirra and reaction. Dilip Kumar was Muslim at birth and died as a Muslim. He was born Peshawar, Pakistan. He moved to Bombay to because film industry was located in Bombay. When he started his acting career he was told to adopt a Hindu name if he wanted to succeed in the film industry. He therefore he changed his name from Yousuf Khan to Dilip Kumar. Looking forward to your next reaction.
In those era ,respected families as dilipkumar belongs to , were not feel proud to be a part of cinema.. So he changed n hide his name from his family
people. .
Dilip Kumar's ancestral home in Pashawar is looked after as an historical asset.Once when he went back to Pakistan, according to reports he was unable to see the house in which he was born.There were great preparations to welcome him home.The traffic was re-rrouted ,police stood on guard.But whole ofPashawar came to a stand still.The whole area was jampacked.There was an unending ocean of people who had come to see him.It was not possible to move this huge multitude .Iwas told this by someone who was there.Ihave lived in Europe most of my life,wasn't there nor could verify this story else where but considering his immense popularity it seems correct.

I myself was present in this particular mushairah. Dilip Kumar came late from airport due to flight delay and due to traffic jam - the whole audience were eagerly waiting for Dilip Sahab. In fact we're there for Dilip Sahab.
Dilip Sahab carried treasure of languages and the his exceptional way of presenting (dilect) is unmatched.
The great Kunwar Sahab and the great Dilip Sahab will remain great, they respect each other a lot.

ھمیں فخر ھے کہ دلیپ کمار صاحب میرے شہر پشاور کے محلہ خداداد سے تعلق رکھتے ھیں ۔۔۔ اسی محلہ میں ھم لویر مڈل اسکول تک پڑھے ۔۔۔اکثر ادھی چھٹی کے دوران اسی محلہ کے اندر قصاب گلی میں ان کا گھر دیکھنے جاتے ۔۔ یہ ھر وقت کھلا رھتا ۔۔۔اب یہاں کی حکومت نے اسے قومی ورثہ قرار دے دیا ھے
