The sheer amount of love that Bob has for Paul is so wonderful to see. This makes me cry every time because it is just so thoughtful. Two wonderful human beings. We need to see more male friendships like this on TV

wow. paul heaton singing to bob unreal. my dad is 80 and his never really heard of these two until i made a point of of him watching them from the 1st series which we both watch together and ive never seen him laugh so much in my life,. my mum passed away 2 years ago near xmas so its still raw for us but to see him laugh is unreal , the faces bob pulls is unreal and whitehouse moaning all the time , its real old school comedy .my dad is now thier biggest fans from watching vic and bobs big night out to the fast show.... cheers guys.

In the time since the comment, I even managed to get a fishing trip in with my dad, and we laughed together to these clips and others. That's no joke. He's always been an advocate for my bettering.

How was this not all in the show?? It's Christmas, the News doesn't need to be half an hour. In fact the world might be a better place if the News was limited to ten minutes a day and the rest of the news slots were full of Gone Fishing! Or maybe this was all shown and I was already slumped in a calorie coma? Or maybe it's 3:45am and I'm dreaming this whole thing... in which case I don't want to wake up. Glorious!
Worth every penny of the tv licence. Best program on this Xmas

Me and my best friend both late 20’s.. talk daily about this programme and have bought tickets to see them in Lincoln this summer!
Never have we ever seen a programme make you smile, cry, laugh and think so much whilst being so peaceful!
To top the whole thing off the award ceremony was filmed at the Waterloo social club in blyth, right around the corner from where we live.. when we seen they had filmed there during watching the Christmas episode we both could have cried! Unbelievable Paul and Bob will live forever!

Seen Paul Heaton & Jackie abbot twice in delemere forest !!! (Last time Billy Bragg support) !!! So much undervalued singer/song writer !!!!! And Bob /whitehouse gone fishing is again the most under valued program on tele !! In these times !!! To watch the pair of you enjoying the one sport I hate !!😂😂 but bringing the true meaning of friendship into the fore !! Wow please let there be another series but if not I’m off to buy a rod and ring a few people who I should have spoken to sooner!!! Love it !!!
I am not sure why the term Underrated / valued is ever used to describe Paul And Jacqui. They are absolute Gods. I get the feeling they dont really care about being classed as " so called Superstars "

I love this episode.❤ This show is so full of love without any disturbances of mobile phones, social media, news and all that negativity. So tranquil and great for the soul. Two brilliant comedians fishing in the country. That’s all we need.

I was so looking forward to this Christmas special and I wasn’t disappointed. Bob and Paul are absolutely brilliant and I just wish they made future series quicker than they do. Both true gents and British treasures. Its lovely to see a genuine friendship and how much they mean to each other but mostly who knew I could ever find a programme with fishing in interesting 😂😂.
Also a bonus to have Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott singing on this episode. I loved the Housemartins and Beautiful South and Paul’s voice has remained brilliant over the years.
Love these two. Really hope they keep making the fishing shows. The Christmas 2021 one was great as usual.

Absolutely top draw. Best program on TV all Christmas. Could watch these two for hours, really laid back and chilled. The humour and chemistry between them is brilliant. Long may they continue.

Not into fishing at all but love the show, so easy to watch, they come across as good guys comfortable with themselves, the best thing the BBC has done in a long time.
