The han river is a landmark river that flows horizontally in the middle of seoul, splitting the entire city in half! Nam san is a mountain that overlooks the Han river somewhere near the middle. It also has the Namsan tower (N seoul tower), the second tallest tower in the country (the tallest until 2017)! Jimin’s prob referencing how the mountain is situated nicely next to the river for nice views, esp at the top of the tower, which has long been known to be a place for couples to hang locks and cute messages :)
Ahhhh thank you! I like how romance is interwoven into that line in several ways while staying true to his Korean roots (he easily could've used French references for example).

There was a Korean news channel, i think maybe KHN that specifically did a short news segment yt video on that this was a sexual lyric and they said specifically it was Nam Sam mountain, so my mind had to go to river wet, mountain rock is ..., But then I googled yes I THOUGHT Nam Sam is a tower too then it would be phallic reference not quite as naughty

I like your analysis. First: the song was written for an international audience and will appeal both in Korea and in any music market. Second: Jimin captures Teang's style very well and the song is much more fun, with lighter lyrics, not as meaningfully complex as BTS songs. The sound of the song is very contemporary (albeit 90s style to suit Teang) and very on trend, even slightly ahead of the trend and I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of songs like this soon! Personally, I think that if the song was just Jimin's, it would definitely be more complicated behind the production work, because that's BTS's style. But Teang probably wanted it to be closer to his style. Jimin has an interesting "delivery" of the sound, which is evident in the chorus and the word "vipe" - more drawn out and sexy, which always distinguishes him from other vocals. I personally like this way of singing which goes well with the whole atmosphere of the song.

Love the song .The best production team of YG worked on it starting with the legendary Teddy . The Black Label is his label under YG Ent. He suggested this colab to Taeyang and like Taeyang said Teddy knows what is best 😅 . The man has been making some of the best kpop hits for like 20 years. They made sure the song fits them and shows the qualities of both artists . This is a one time treat for sure . Colaborations between different companies are hard and as a general rule YG does not accept outside company producers.

Jimin has loved Taeyaang and that was his dream to sing with Taeyang but it was just a dream for him. That his dream came true was beautiful and yes I would have liked them to do a 7 min song for sure. They say that it sounded like a 90/00 retro drum fill that made that funk/groove sound so good don't know but it sounded great.
Not only is the song so cool but also the lyrics where we learn somethin about korea like the Nam San, Han River and some deep verses to look in google for the meanings. This song is the BEST COLLAB OF THE YEAR!

Love this reaction! A bit of explanation of Taeyang’s tattoos. The one on his back is an elaborate portrait of Christ. The front chest is the word “PASSION” which is also a reference to Christ. On his side ribs is a giant ornate cross, and I bet you can guess who that is about by now 🙂
Taeyang is extremely devout. His tattoos are all about his faith and his songs are all about his wife, bthe other person he is devoted to.

The Han River is a major river in SK, the Nam San is a mountain.
I would like to suggest for you to try reacting to more videos and live performances of Taeyang and his group Bigbang. They are legendary artists with amazing body of work and mesmerizing stage presence.
Han river (Han gahng) is the main river that runs across Seoul. Nam San literally means Southern Mountain (=southern part of Seoul) which is in Seoul, where the Namsan tower (observatory) sits on top.

Namsan does mean southern mountain, but it is not in the southern half of Seoul. Namsan is located in the same district as myeongdong (district name also being myeongdong), the #1 seoul tourist shopping destination, which is just north of the river. The two halves of seoul are called gangbuk (north of river) and gangnam (south of river), and namsan is in gangbuk. Also, gangnam in this case versus gangnam from gangnam style are two different references as there’s also a district in gangnam called gangnam (gangnam-gu) as well.

Son: As an Army Mom (currently residing on my tiny West Indian Island.. and part of the 4.5 billion Army?) Those lyrics of "You're the Han River. I'm the Nam Sun'. Is directly related to their fan base in S.Korea. All I know is....the 'Han River' is famous and flows from their mountains...all the way through Seoul....their main capital/city? If wrong. Please correct/educate my ignorant arse. 🤣 People. At 55 yrs old.....never too old to learn. No idea what the 'Nam Sun' means or it's relevance to said song. what I DO KNOW: Is no matter how good this song is? Just cos' half the lyrics are in Korean? Will NEVER get airplay on US radio stations. Thus: No matter how good the vid/music collab is? The 'Merican industry will ignore it. I know a little Korean since I'm studying the language, but I know nothing about Korean slang other than what I've seen on DKDKTV explanation videos. "San" means mountain, so he's saying that she's a river and he's a mountain. I saw a Twitter an explanation saying that a river is wet and a mountain is hard, so... I have no idea of that's accurate or not, but That's the explanation that I saw.

Why didn't I look what up? If you mean my question about the han river, I didn't know what the line was in reference to so I simply stated that instead of pretending like I did & continued on with my video (as none of you would want to sit & watch me google it). Furthermore even knowing what the Han is would not give me the deeper insight of the intelligent people in the comment section adding their interpretations on the layered metaphor.

Honestly no disrespect here but for me Jimin brought the song alive, he brought flavour, a litttle "je ne sais quoi" or should I say the X factor. Maybe because the song suits Jimin voice better. And it is a shame cause Taeyang has really an extraordinary voice but here he came out just good not extraordinary. Sorry hjust my humble opinion. Jimin killed it. Just being honest

Lol...The disrespect for Taeyang's hardwork. First of all u should be thankful that Taeyang agreed on Teddy Park to put Jimin in this song which is done by Taeyang 2 yrs ago. 2nd Taeyang doesnt even know who Jimin is and mistakenly meet other man that he expect its Jimin when its not. 3rd TAEYANG re-recorded this 4-5 times becauss of Jimin, he made an adjustments on the keytones just for Jimin. When In Fact all Taeyangs past works and 3 albums he worked on he will only do 1 take. This is the first time happened to Taeyang re-recording 4-5 times just for Jimin. 4th-Taeyang give equal lines and a spotlight to Jimin which is he is just a feat. U will never see a feat with equal lines and spotlight to the main artists,its just rare but Taeyang and Bigbang members are like this,they are not greedy to give spotlight to their juniors or any artists rhey are goin to be in their music or songs. 5th-Taeyang actually dont need Jimin in this song, Taeyang can carry the song by himself but yeah Teddy Park,inserted Jimin. 6th-Taeyang had a solid career as a soloist outside of Bigbang as well as the other members. Cemented as a soloist 2008. Released 3 Successful commercial Albums 2 Live Albums in the past, Hits after Hits, SOLO MUSIC AWARS 24 WINS, 43 NOMS and did a SUCCESSFUL SOLO WORLD TOUR. Discrediting TAEYANG on HIS OWN WORKS is a typical army everywhere. Meanwhile Jimin fullfilled his dreams to be om the same stage with Taeyang.

3rd because you compare them, let me give you a reality check based on facts with proofs . BTS are the biggest group (not K-Pop) in the world. They are the number 1 Best sellers artist (not even group or K-pop group but ARTIST) of the decade of the entire world, also facts + receipts. They've been winning all the awards and daesangs of the world for 6 consecutives years except for the Grammy (but still nominated 5 times 4 years in a row) . I won't even talk of their 71 daesangs just in Korea alone to the 13 daesangs of Bigbang. They have the records of the most awards in the world in history, 2nd is Taylor Swift. I can go on and on ... Just look it up and read the guiness book of records please. Now none of Taeyang songs (and God knows how great and successful they were) has even reach thel level of success globally of Jimin's songs (Promise, With you, Lie, Serenpendity, Filter) even though Jimin never promoted any of those songs and has never put an album out yet (look it up) and Taeyang had, of course, you did mention them. Jimin doesn't need anybody to do him a favour. Jimin and the other members of BTS are on top of the world and bigger and more famous than Bigbang orTaeyang sorry to say it (but you force me to be blunt). They are courses about the BTS phenomenon at some University in Korea, USA, England. Conferences and lectures are held by people who have a doctorate in social culture.They are expositions of Jimin being held in museum. Anything Jimin touch turn gold (again see receipts). Top international artist wish to work with him. Should I go on?
Jimin didn't ask for the collab. Teddy really wanted him so much that they even change the initial song to this song to suit his voice better. WHY? After all it is Taeyang comeback after 6 years or so. Why not dedicate a song that will show his really exceptionnel talent and then do the collab with Jimin on another song. Why change everything for Jimin? It is not Jimin comeback. Why Taeyang asked Jimin personally to work with him? Jimin didnt ask his childhood idol who he admires to be on his comeback song. Who has more to gain with this collab Jimin or Taeyang? Also jimin is also credited in the writting and any collaboration of BTS members is always half, half so nothing out of ordinary here You came after me because I've dared voice my opinion.
