@@naso4265 ah! the nostalgia homie! I've never met anyone who looks into a disk that is being defragged and says that's interesting, in fact, most people defrag disk when they can go off the screen because it is annoying and boring to watch and wait.
There will probably be a problem with that, since it's very hard to decide how far away from a solved cube the AI got on its turn. The other option of optimizing for speed is incredibly time consuming, with the first generation needing someone to solve the cube with ONLY RANDOM MOVES. A rubriks cube just needs way too much foresight for a neural network to find the algorithms on its own.
@@s.soderqvist3501 It might works if you first try to let it learn each small step of some algorithm, and once it learns that algorith, let it improve from there on it's own.
I’d definitely like to see a neural network attack this. Maybe if you gave each ‘step’ x moves to then decide if it was getting closer. (In other words don’t try to evaluate if the cube is more or less solved until you’ve done 3 (or some other number of) moves)
Well, you don’t necessarily *need* to understand something to enjoy it. It definitely boosts enjoyment, but if someone tries to prevent you from enjoying something because you don’t understand it, or know everything about it, they can go screw themselves. I just watched it ‘cause it looked cool.
@@martiddy It's always been something in the back of my mind as a fun little project, but there are already a few Tetris AIs on TH-cam, the main thing holding me back is just wondering what would make mine unique and therefore worth doing. Any ideas?
The most successful algorithms would be using only the “next block” preview window to inform their move decision above a certain speed. It could make for an interesting project.
Without loosing what? Seriously though it’s actually kind of interesting the algorithms that were designed to not lose at Tetris in that one of them I saw would pause the game when it was about to lose and never unpause it.
I believe its just as easy to do that as normal. You just have to recode what a solved cube looks like and reassign the nerd values to the makemesoundsmart squares in the configuration of what the art look like.

Use a neural network and see if the computer can learn the algorithms on its own!!
NN would create some weird ass algorithms, I guarantee it
There will probably be a problem with that, since it's very hard to decide how far away from a solved cube the AI got on its turn.
I mean it's kinda hard to come up with a heuristic (loss function) for such a problem....
I’d definitely like to see a neural network attack this. Maybe if you gave each ‘step’ x moves to then decide if it was getting closer. (In other words don’t try to evaluate if the cube is more or less solved until you’ve done 3 (or some other number of) moves)
If you keep this up you'll end up programming skynet.

A) ai learns how to solve a megaminx
B) ai learns how to play tetris
Tetris, huh? I could do that. Interesting problem, it's np-complete. Maybe I will.
@@ConsciousExpression Just leaving a comment here to know when you finished your tetris project
I saw an AI playing tetris and right as it was about to lose it paused the game so it wouldnt lose xD

It's always been something in the back of my mind as a fun little project, but there are already a few Tetris AIs on TH-cam, the main thing holding me back is just wondering what would make mine unique and therefore worth doing. Any ideas?
@@ConsciousExpression Maybe you could make an AI to play 3d tetris. That would be more difficult to the AI to learn instead of the regular 2d tetris.

What about an AI that plays tetris without loosing and you could slowly ramp up speed the blocks drop at to see at which point the ai can't keep up.
The AI doesn't care about how fast it's moving
The most successful algorithms would be using only the “next block” preview window to inform their move decision above a certain speed. It could make for an interesting project.
or which point his pc can't keep up
Without loosing what? Seriously though it’s actually kind of interesting the algorithms that were designed to not lose at Tetris in that one of them I saw would pause the game when it was about to lose and never unpause it.

You should do a video where an A.I. makes pixel art with the 55x55x55 rubik's cube

I believe its just as easy to do that as normal. You just have to recode what a solved cube looks like and reassign the nerd values to the makemesoundsmart squares in the configuration of what the art look like.

These algorithms have always been considered part of the field of artificial intelligence. Machine learning is also algorithms.
AI and algorithms are not disjoint. If an algorithm processes some kind of environment to achive a goal, it's pretty much an AI.
AI and algorithms are completely synonymous, if you mean it doesnt use machine learning, then that's a completely different point.
