The first Lulu Hypermarket opens at Global Malls, in Rajajinagar, Bangalore. It is billed to be the biggest hypermarket in Bengaluru, with the largest indoor entertainment zone, Funtura. Launched by Lulu Group, the UAE multinational conglomerate, the mall is located on 14 acres, with 132 stores and 17 kiosks of retail brands across five storeys, spanning over 8 lakh sqft. he mall includes two of Lulu’s greatest offerings - Lulu Hypermarket spread across 2 lakh sq ft, and the largest indoor entertainment centre, Funtura.
LuLu Group International is an Emirati multinational conglomerate company that operates a chain of hypermarkets and retail companies, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It was founded in 2000 by M. A. Yusuff Ali from Nattika, Thrissur district in Kerala, India. It is one of the largest retail chains in Asia and is the biggest in the Middle East with 215 outlets in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and elsewhere. LuLu Group International administrates Lulu Hypermarket which also have 13 malls all over the GCC Countries.
