So many channels talk the whole video about how they aren't "making their money back" when opening a new set, and here's Wubby just vibin while losing 5 figures. Such a breath of fresh air...its a game, its supposed to be enjoyed.

So a common issue with Legends boxes is that the Uncommon sheet was so large, that boxes/cases only had Uncommons from one half of the Uncommon sheet. It was so bad that Wizards, through Duelist magazine, had an exchange program where you could send in your extra Uncommons and receive Uncommons from the other half that other senders sent in. What a mess...
I know nothing about Magic but love Magic Monday. It'd fun getting excited with Wubby on a good pull. And I appreciate the visual aid at the top for those who don't know what they're looking at. Some constructive criticism: can the price pop ups be placed to the side so we can see see the card fully as they are pulled? Can't wait to see more!
The fact that Wizards of the Coast haven't collaborated with this man yet is absolutely absurd. He has done more to show off this hobby to the current generation of potential players and collectors than anyone else. I love Wubby, and I know he loves me too because of all the feet pics he makes me send him.
I know literally nothing about Magic but I really, really enjoy watching the Magic Monday streams! I love the energy in each of them and we're always hoping for the best with the pulls, and I enjoy getting to hear about your genuine care you have for Magic and learning a bit more about it. I never used to consider Magic being something I was into, but after being there with you and the rest of Magic chat, I have begun to have a soft spot for it. This was great for me. I used to play back in the 90s, but have just recently got back into it. To see the artstyle on these cards compared to modern was a throwback and a treat. I forgot how many cards I could remember based solely on the art.
I've never played MTG or been interested in card games, but I never miss a Magic Monday if I can help it! Super excited for this new channel and the new editor!

@@xzysyndromeBuying a box of cards to open isn't "getting hosed", especially if the dude is opening the boxes to have cards to play the game with. Not everyone opens packs for money and the ones that do aren't very financially literate if they expect to come out on top.

So nostalgic. Just stumbled on this channel (no idea hsvent played MTG in over a decade since I was in the Army!) Brings me back to 7th and 8th grade with my buddies sitting and opening pack after pack/random deck packs of Beta/Urzas/Ice Age - with the occasional Alpha pack/deck. So many folks say "if I could go back in tine Id onvest in Google/Amazon"- which I would too! BUT I would get each pack/box of Alpha/Legends/Ice Age professionally graded (unopened)- and sealed. I could so have the money to own a Ferrari (or 4) and a few businesses lol.
I love mtg, only got into it last year but it’s one of my favourite games now. So sick seeing Wubby get into it, and now having a whole channel for it is awesome. A bit of a long shot, but it would be sick if you went on Command Zone or something like that. I know it’s unlikely, but man I’d love that episode if you were on it. Also, good shit on the pulls! Your reactions to them are always the best!

Damn thank you man! When I first started playing Magic it was at the launch of revised. I got 2 starter decks and 2 boosters of Legends and 2 boosters of The Dark. I loved Legends and when I went back for more they were all gone and no more were on their way :( So sad.

so my brother when he was back in highschool, had a friend who purchased a pack of legends in europe and he bought it off him for like 30 bucks, inside was a italian gwendolyn di corci, years later, earlier this year infact we were going through old boxes and we found it, aswell as two lions eye diamonds, and a gilded drake in a box labeled random commons/artifacts, i built a commander deck with her as the commander and the gilded drake and we each have a lions eye diamond in one of our decks
I actually played back when Legends came out, and you couldn't even get a full box of Legends back in the day from the local LGS'es. Now that box is worth more than my car
Yeah and the legends and antiquities boosters were really expensive. I think the legends boosters were selling for like $30 a pack or something crazy. And the elder dragons were like 30-35 if you could find them for sale. 35k for a legends box is nuts considering you're probably getting maybe 8k max out of it.
I was never into MTG. I actually made fun of the game. But then I started collecting the Adventures of the Forgotten Realms set and said it was for the art. Then I started watching Wubby get exited about MTG and talk about playing, so I tried MTG Arena to learn the game. Now I'm going to be watching these videos and watching unboxings and games and Wubby is going to ruin my life with MTG 💚
5:49 The best part about this rule is that it's a distinction from the mechanic that let you literally steal people's cards. The ante mechanic forced you to wager cards and the winner got the cards in the ante. There were also cards that added cards to the ante during the game. The mechanic was removed and all ante cards were banned because A) no one likes losing cards and B) it turned the game into actual gambling.

At Gencon the year this set was released WoTC was limiting people to 8 packs of Legends and 8 packs of Dark per day. The line was all the way around the dealers hall.
I was lucky enough to be in MTG when this was released. Honestly very cool to see some od these old cards. The price on this stuff is insane...just no way lol.
I had to look up what the Legends A boxes and B boxes contained and I was shocked that A boxes have Mana Drain, Land Tax, and Sylvan Library. That would make A boxes worth slightly more

That is incorrect, the uncommon sheet was the same size as the rare and common sheet, 121 cards. The problem was the packaging and distribution.
