That "circles" in 7:27 and 7:30 is clearly all capped brood. Around there is some empty space and further out you have capped honey. There is a laying queen in that hive.
The difference is clear when you know what you are looking for. The brood cells capping is flat or just a bit convex while the honey cells capping is a bit concave. The queen also lays her eggs in a spherical form in the hive which makes these round shapes of brood on the frames. If you have 2 brood boxes this can result in half circles on each level. Drone cells are bigger and have a big bulge as a capping.
The second hive looks weak and you did the right thing to feed them.
    Good luck

This is really helpful, thank you! I've been looking at pictures of capped honey vs capped brood, but the way you describe it makes it clearer. Much appreciated 🙏
I'm definitely worried about the weak hive. Hopefully my next video isn't "MORE dead bees" 😔

I'm new to this as well, but I think the issue with the dead bees is due to the orientation of your notched inner cover. With the healthy hive, the notch was "up" meaning it was closed off from the outside by the top outer cover, and did not allow any bees in.
On the "dead" hive, the notch was facing down, which is the orientation for ventilation or additonal entry point. This means it allowed the bees to enter your feeding box from the top, and drown. By removing the notched inner cover, I would expect you solved the dying bee issue.

      Thank you!🙏
I had similar advice from another beekeeper, so I think you're right. 😊

Hope the queen wasn't under feeder.

Oh no! I can imagine doing that 😲 Now she stays in the brood box, but I'm always afraid of accidentally squishing her.
