This is the best one I've seen so far. I love how you make 3 various drinks and distribute the alcohol equally and not just add alcohol free drinks at the bottom and the alcohol on top.
Wow, I can’t wait to mess this up at a party…. Actually, I love the mixing glass idea, so I can ensure it looks right before I make a fool of myself…. Great technique!
Impressive! smart to use the mixing glass with a spout and it will cleanly go in the shots! I always see people just pouring it out the Boston shaker and it looks super messy!
After this video I decided this was absolutely the easiest way for me to not mess it up. Not gonna lie, got it on my very first try at work because i was eager to try it! Thanks for making something that seemed challenging much easier 🔥🔥🔥
In the traditional sense, these shots are mainyl just juice, but in this case, all the colors contain an abundant amount of alcohol. I love this, thank you for sharing

@@boozeontherocks yes I will 100% let you know and send a link to the channel.. I was in hospital for like 6 weeks after almost dying so in there I started developing a love for Mocktail
Another great vid mate! Started making cocktails this weekend after stumbling across your channel this week 🙌😂😂 nice and easy to follow with plenty of choices 👍
It's working, it's really working. Great recipe & tutorial! Alas, I find the blue shots a little too strong in taste. How can I balance the taste without ruining the layer-building and palette of colours? Or maybe I should just take off some quantity of white rum and give the same measure to orange juice & lemon juice ?
I'm, glad you like it. Adjust you level of alcohol that you mix with you blue curacao. That way the colours will still work and you can get something you enjoy.
@@boozeontherocks I first saw this technique on another channel with a let’s say “Caribbean dude” lol, your technique is better and a tastier recipe for sure. I might give this a try to impress at our Fourth of July party...

Hey David, great video! I've been trying to come up with a way to add in a purple layer just to have the full rainbow represented. I'm thinking it would have to be some sort of butterfly pea flower cocktail floated on top. Do you have any ideas that might achieve this effect?
I’ve been trying to do these, but can’t get around to ge the yellow/orange layer correct. I’ve followed every step. Does the size of the ice matter? Or any other tips please
That is why I stir everything so that is less likely to happen. But it does happen where the first one of each color is stronger due to the way the rest of the sweet elements start to sink. SO if you have seen some videos where they only put vodka on top that first shot is strong and then each shot gets weaker.
Help me out here . I saw this done many times when working at Sandals resorts in Jamaica . I followed your instructions to the letter and was left with eight shot glasses of what looked like mud . I tried again missing the alcohol out the grenadine to keep it heavier . I ended up with one glass of light green and seven of dark red . After several attempts using instructions from other you tubers I am no nearer getting it right . I ve tried ice cubes, crushed ice and a mixture of both. All with same results . My cocktail shaker is tapered narrower from about 2/3 down . Could that be why it’s not working . Have hardly any hair left as I’m pulling it out trying to get this right . Also been pissed with drinking eight shots three times a day lol HELP
So what happened is the Blue Curacao sank mixing all of the colous. It is partially about the speed that you pour t at once you add the blue curacao. I used smaller ice and make sure that my alcohols were mixed thoroughly. The blue layer will begin to sink immediately because the blue curacao has a lot of sugar so its heavier than the orange juice. that is what is causing it to mix.
@@boozeontherocks I poured the mixture immediately I put the blue curvacao in. No delay at all . I have tried doing this several ways with reduced and increased alcohol. The best I got was a light blue then slightly green then six red wine coloured. Just don’t know where I’m going wrong. Yet I have saw this done hundreds of times. Any suggestions👍
@@boozeontherocks I did try a mixture of ice cubes and crushed ice and did get at least a hint of different colours. Now wondering if the different brand of grenadine syrup may be contributing to my failure 👍🥺
I see you did distribute the Alcohol more as in most Other Variations of this "Party Trick" and while i kinda get why you did that, unfortunatly it destroys the Colors Intensity.... At least on the Video it looks to me that way. They all get somewhat Pale. Kinda Curious if its the Alcohol who causes that or if its some other reason.
The alcohol does thin it out a bit which gives yo ua slightly paler look. Part of the paler look is based on the lighting too. But as you said it distrutes the alcohol evenly versus only having it in tthe first and last shot.
@@boozeontherocks i literally poured it in less then 1 second 😅😅😅 as soon as I placed the curacao bottle down 🤷 They didn't look too good but they tasted good 😅
Not sure if you’ll see this, but I’m curious if the particular alcohol you use makes a difference, I’m hesitant to mix liquors like this and wanted to know if it could be done all vodka instead? Or does the liquors viscosity play a bigger role?
This is the best one I've seen so far. I love how you make 3 various drinks and distribute the alcohol equally and not just add alcohol free drinks at the bottom and the alcohol on top.

Very cool. Am I right in assuming you could use just one clear spirit for all? Like just vodka for all the colors.
You could for sure. The different spirits I used allowed for different flavours. But you could use just vodka and so on.

Is there a reason for the different types of alcohol? Could it all be vodka or is it dependent on the density or something?
You could use the same alcohol, But this also allows for fidderent flavours for your shots, and each has different sugar values.

Thank you, They are 1.4 oz/40 ml amzn.to/3OptFzO
Damn
Thank you :)
Hey, how do you make the blue layer float on top? 😮😮 I ask because mine is about to sink. 😅
It happens, you have to go fast or it will sink because of the sugar in the blue curacao makes it sink
Hey David, great video! I've been trying to come up with a way to add in a purple layer just to have the full rainbow represented. I'm thinking it would have to be some sort of butterfly pea flower cocktail floated on top. Do you have any ideas that might achieve this effect?
That is an interesting idea. You could use an empress 1908 gin. or you could infuse some of your favorite gin with butterfly pea flowers.
Good job Dave watching all the way from Belfast Northern Ireland, what size is the shot glasses?
Thank you Simon. Those are 1.4 oz/40 ml shot glasses. amzn.to/3OptFzO
What can i use instead of tequilla? I really dont like that🤣 I think about gin or pineapple rum?
Annie you could definitely use either of those no problem.
I’ve been trying to do these, but can’t get around to ge the yellow/orange layer correct. I’ve followed every step. Does the size of the ice matter? Or any other tips please
Use smaller ice, that will slow down the flow of liquids and help keep the separation.
Hey, could I use only tequila instead of vodka or rum?
Update: And I didn't buy enough shot glasses; only brought 5. 😑
Definitely.
@BoozeOnTheRocks I made it today, and it came out dark. I'm trying to figure out what went wrong.
Does it need to be granadine?..or could you use like Raspberry or Cherry?
You could make your own with either the cherry ot raspberry. both will work.
Are those 1 oz shot glasses?
No The are 1.4 oz/40 ml amzn.to/3OptFzO
I thought you were going to do the trick where there's a bit of food colouring in each shot glass.
Nope. No trickery allowed here.
Do any of the colored shots end up much weaker in ABV compared to the rest?
That is why I stir everything so that is less likely to happen. But it does happen where the first one of each color is stronger due to the way the rest of the sweet elements start to sink. SO if you have seen some videos where they only put vodka on top that first shot is strong and then each shot gets weaker.
