Anyway, some have been breaking spaghetti since ever, even in South Italy. Maybe because their pot is small. Only recently, in these trivial years, "never break pasta" has become an identity issue. Too much care about stupid things is a sign of cultural decadence, sadly. Btw, reason n.1 is unfounded -cooking time *does not* depend on the length (only on diameter). Reason n.3 is also doubtful.

"but why?" Hes speaking the language of Gods Warning: DO NOT TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A JOKE Edit: why is there a misunderstanding war going on in the reply section
There are so many reasons for half length spaghetti tho, energy savings, extra starchy water (if needed), and of course convinience. Also Spagetti are the cheapest pasta.
Exactly. Also despite what he says it'll allow noodles to cook more evenly than whole since if you cook it whole you have to wait until the bottom is softened for it to submerge fully. That means the bottom is cooked at least a minute longer.
A friend of mine does it, saying because it won't fit the pot. Which doesn't make sense because eventually the pasta goes in fully the pot the longer it cooks💀
There’s also another reason. A sort of legend, pasta/spaghetti was inspired by Chinese noodles and brought over to Europe in the 13th century by Marco Polo. Like how Italians adopted the usage of tomatoes in culinary arts later on when they colonized the Americas in the mid 1500s. Assuming that the above is true, there is also another belief or tradition in China that noodles represent your lifespan. So its considered bad to cut noodles short when making them and eating them. There is a chance that that tradition was also carried over.
The story about Marco Polo was made up propaganda during the second world war. Marco Polo himself even compared the noodles of the chinese to the Pasta already being eaten in Italy during that time
Bottom has the most flavour so chip bags should be opened from the bottom. Look, I don't care what tradition you have, if you can't explain it logically to people instead you threaten them then you have no right to expect them to do as you say. That said, I won't be breaking pasta because this guy explained it logically, not because you would get mad.
There's no "correctness" in cooking. You can say this is spaghetti a la Napolitana, but you can do whatever you want. Whatever people love to it, is correct, as long as it's healthy 😁
Bluff. Breaking pasta into half is not "illegal." You can't even be in prison for breaking pasta in half. Illegal means that your doing something unlawful or breaking the rules or laws, that accords to a law, or ordinance. The title should be "Why breaking pasta in half is offensive?" . Further, offensive means you're doing discrimination statements or doing something bad to a race or nationality. You can also modify the title: "Why breaking pasta into half is bad?", which in the video itself shows some reasons why cooking pasta in half is bad and could sacrifice quality. Many internet influencers are putting "clickbait" titles on their videos to get views which squeezes profit. Influencers must have the title as accurate as the content was. Accurate information gives people meaningful information and will teach people some useful things instead of clickbait videos to ballon profits high.
Got it! Just break it evenly, make sure there as much sauce as it would on a longer spaghetti and find a slightly smaller fork for it to roll the pasta. I think I got the gist of it, so I’m gonna break my pasta now. 😃😃
Imma just break down that wall and say , I cut my pasta after its cooked because otherwise I can't eat it. Ive had many times choking, with like an inch of pasta in my mouth, had to grab it and pull out like a whole length of spaghetti from my throat. I cant chew properly and I don't want to die 😂
I'm going to be honest, I don't care about it not being able to spin it as I never do that because it just takes too long. For the sauce we usually have it separately so we can add it as much as we want. Also, I usually mix spaghetti with instant noodles to give it more noodles.
