Paintball is as game of chess with guns so to say everyone is a moving piece independent of eachother but strongest when used in cohesion of eachother. These pieces are summerized under numbers 1s typically are up in the front typically used to get kills in strong bunkers on any particular layout behind them will be a 2 which in this video is what this player is acting as they help put people in their bunkers and support the one and in the back line with them may or may not be a 3 which you could think of as the backup to the 2 and is the connector who will relay info back and forth between both the dorrito side and snake side.

I think they should do limited ammo matches. Just 2 or 3 mags per person. With maybe a refill station at each base. Should make things more interesting.
There are no "mags" , they cap the rate of fire, not the amount you can carry. There are different styles of paintball, like mechanical or pump action. This is speedball, and you don't really have an advantage when you can fire like this, because so can the other team.
For those confused as to what he is doing, he is what we call “shooting a lane”, basically he’s filling the gap in between two pieces of cover with a paint stream so that an enemy player cannot cross it. It’s area denial/containment, you don’t want your opponents to get to the back corners/sides of the field as those are some of the strongest positions/flanking routes, so you “shoot the lane” to cut them off and prevent them from getting out to the corner or tape (the very edge of the field is called the tape, cause there’s, ya know, tape stretched across the edge.)

Well this isn't a battlefield, it's a sport. What dude is doing here is called 'holding a lane ', kind of like how a machine gun is used for suppressive fire. He's preventing someone on the other team from being able to shoot or move so that his teammate that's trying to move up the field is protected. The moment he stops shooting his opponent can return fire and do the same thing to him so he effectively can't stop shooting. It's kind of a dumb aspect of competitive paintball but it's what you're supposed to be doing if you aren't one of the 'front players' whose job is to move.

I've seen probably 20 paintball clips - and they're all the exact same.. a close up of one guy unloading as fast as he can around cover. How boring is that? Can we get tactics, people getting shot, an angle where we can actually see what they're shooting, literally anything else besides this?

I’ll never understand why paintball is way more popular than Airsoft… majority of paintball guns look ridiculous, you have to pay 3x more just to play on a field as Airsoft, because of having to buy the fields paint. I pay at most $30 to play Airsoft, while paintball is $70-$100 to play just one day; just multiply that by a month lol. Paintball hurts more/guns have significantly less range than Airsoft. Here in Brazil we play as we call "Tactical Paintball". 5min matches, 30 rounds, no reloads. It's fun af and not wasteful
I think Canada league has a 300 round limit or something like that. Speedball is pretty boring imo and mechanical is way more interesting
