jammed bonnet on vivaro van

snapped or damaged or disconnected cable for popping the bonnet. I found very little information on gaining access to the engine bay. I have made this video to help reduce others getting as stressed out as I was.

Thanks for your video, had same problem but solved it easier in 5 min.
Once I'd seen your vid I worked out that popping the catch in footwear off its bracket, pulling the whole mechanism tight, then operate the lever did the job.
Turned out my outer cable had split and was just contracting and taking up all movement on the cable.

Just put your hand up the top of the release catch in the cab of the van and grab the cable and pull it, that will open the bonnet as long as the cable has not snapped lol

Hi that vivario bonnet was a pig your technique would work if the cable broke from within. this one separated from the latch. So I felt my way where the cable entered and improvised a little hook in the hope that I would catch a part of the mech. I have done it now need to find a replacement cable assembly. Thanks for your advice it just allowed me to up my game plan

Hi there. Im glad you got it sorted. I currently have a Vauxhall Movano with another problematic bonnet catch. So that will need investigation soon.
