A film now from the collection of a now departed friend. Having seen my videos taken since 1985 he was inspired to go out and buy his own video camera and get filming. I have been digitising them and converting the Video8 tapes to MP4. This upload shows bus action at Uxbridge Town Centre plus a few shots in the Uxbridge Road by Ealing Hospital near where the old Southall Bus Garage had once been. As well as London routes, operated by First Group, there are a few country routes with Arriva & Wings including Green Line Express 724. Drivers back then were the old school, swing it round and get on with it. Salute to the old boys and girls. We miss it. Too careful now
Looks like the arriva inspector out driving that plaxton 724 hard to tell tbh, I worked out of Ware in the early 2000s where these were part of the fleet some were based at Harlow as well

London Bus 2000s
A bus company in Sydney's south ran two ex demonstrator single door Lynxes just like the blue one and had the same Cummins motor and ZF gearbox combo. I did not like it.
The sound just cheapened the experience. Wish I got to ride a Leyland TL11 example. The Sydney Bus Museum have another Lynx ex demonstrator from 1984 and it has a TL11 in it with a Voith gearbox like the metros. Haven't ridden it but been told it's a rocket by another enthusiast!
I have cdriven the odd Lynx, they were very fast!
The bodies are pieces of junk but they go alright.
