Placement data is available on the placement page of different branches (Although I do not recommend previous placement data for choosing branches) In most of the branches, you can get core, non core, it/analytics placements. (Except that in power engineering, the number of core placements is less, but being a circuital branch, you can try for software placements) In terms of rigorousness, the rank is this electrical>mechanical~civil>electronics>power All of them have good higher study options

Because college matter but not so much because interest matter if you donot like to study this branch then no college will be helpful and you have a interest in a subject though it is tier 1 2 or 3 you will succeed because after a year no thing will matter no branch no college nothing only experience and your working skill your passion your decision making capabilities will be judge no thing else though you are a iit or nits

Think carefully if you want to do coding or want to explore core branches because placement scenario almost same for this case
I think jgec because donot leave your interest..I am also doing cse in IEM though it is pvt 😅😅but I want to follow my passion because life is one
