Wow! Love the look of the clear crystals 😊❤ I just made a skull with green glow Slime in a bauble in his head. I put a glow hand in it and a glow base of 1/2 inch on the bottom. Boy he's so cool looking! Wish you could see.
Steve, what about warming the resin slightly before you do the technique you did today, would that help the ink flow down into the resin deeper, since cold resin tends to be a little thicker? Another idea comes to mind, what about soaking the glass beads in some of the ink, then once you put them into the moulds, put them in in layers, add resin, then cure it, would that work do you think? I love the beads inside the skulls, they give such an interesting effect don't they, almost like bubbles. Your videos are always so fun and so interesting Steve. Keep up the good work! God bless you and yours. Have a great week!
I'm new to resin and your videos, just wanted the one where you nearly gave up filming. I just wanted to say Steve Thanks for carrying on because your videos up lift me and love love love watching them
You should put them on some kind of vibration plate to get the bubbles out. Some home diy and a electric razor motor or something might work… just something to cause some kind of vibration to free up the bubbles
Ooooooo I love that effect. I will have to give it a try once I am able to get back to my crafting. PS. We need links for stuff in Australia too. I'm forever going hunting after watching your videos
I have done something similar using rocks, and some crushed glass - my main resin was clear with some glitter and then I mixed up very small amounts of other colours and then put those colours in randomly with pipettes around the mould in between adding clear resin, that allowed me to get more of an effect - in some cases, I added too much colour but overall, the look was cool.
I've found to get the alcohol ink to flow down into these types of molds and leave swirls in it, is to fill it a little below the line, drop the ink then drizzle or drip epoxy over it. Turns out beautiful.
They look like skulls with beards lol I actually like the one without the sinker best, each to their own! I would like to see one done with two colours though. Hugs X Ann x
Can you try making it in lays? Some crystals, resin and alcohol ink, then keep repeating til full so the whole thing has color? Maybe even ombré type coloring?
That's really interesting. I've been trying glass beads and also those plastic synthetic diamonds in resin in these (and other) moulds but I always put them into the resin, not the other way round. Might try one this way round instead to see if the inclusions settle differently. Thanks for the video 😊
Really fun idea, LOVE the beads. Was wondering if you could some how 'inject' the ink deeper with a pipette or something before topping the mold off? That way you could sort of place it where you would prefer. Anyway, this was awesome.
I really think it looks great probably would have helped more it you put it in as layers. Do some gems add resin and color then more on top of it, I wouldn't wait for it to cure any but either way it's awesome
They are awesome. They look like something Indiana Jones would cross a bunch of traps to find. Gorgeous!
Thank you Brandy
I love your accidental discoveries, like this one. What a fun outcome.
I wouldn’t call that a failure at all! Really like how they came out. Thank you so much for all the cool ideas.
Skellys with 5 o'clock shadows.. the newest scary Halloween item. lol love how the crystal part turned out.
I love how these turned off out!!!❤❤
I like the way they turned out😊 the skull mold has so many ways to create with it, I love it
I think they both turned out pretty cool!
Wow! Love the look of the clear crystals 😊❤

Sounds cool
I like how they turned out, they look amazing with the lamp. Definitely going to try this x
Awesome Video Steve McDonald
Thank you Steve, they look amazing.

Thank you Carly, the resin was quite warm. I think your idea of layers would be the way to go or mix the colours in the resin a little before pouring
I love the look of these! What a fun idea
I love you are not afraid to try things.
They look great 😊
I enjoyed that. The skull mould has endless game play… love it
So many things you could do with this mould
Awesome 👌🏾 👏🏽 👍🏽
I decided to do this with my Christmas trees. Lovely outcome. Thanks for the idea

I was surprised how few bubbles were in them when cured. Your suggestion would be great for working the resin through the crystals. Thank you. 😀

Awesome idea! Love it. (I need that lamp.)
They are great❤
Absolutely gorgeous looks like crystal and on the light beautiful I love skulls. I have one of those molds
Awesome!
I love the skulls❤
They are a great mould
Great result!
Thank you!

They look cool!
Thank you❤
WAUW.....!!🤩🤩🤩
Awesome...
Good idea to mix different size pebbles.
I really like the mix, looks great with the coloured gems as well

Wow!
Thank you
You should get some of the flat battery candles and put in bottom so these could light up.
Love the sculls
I like them!

Thanks. I think it is good either way.
i am waiting to demold one of these right now! Yours turned out so nice!!
Those are cool
Thank you, I was really shocked at how well they came out
I noticed that acrylic paint will drop to the bottom but you must go easy, it will blob at the lowest point if you use too much.
I wonder if a deep pour resin, which is thinner anyway, would increase the downflow of the ink?
Either way these both turned out pretty amazing!
I've used this mould with slow cure resin too and you can get different effects. It's a good one to experiment with 😊
Really fun idea, LOVE the beads.

Anyway, this was awesome.
Interesting. Im thinking of doing similar but with pea gravel. Have you ever tried that?
What if you added the crystals, dripped the ink, allowed the ink to dry most of the way, then added the resin?
Where do you get that light that you put the skulls on?
I really think it looks great probably would have helped more it you put it in as layers. Do some gems add resin and color then more on top of it, I wouldn't wait for it to cure any but either way it's awesome
Hiya Steve, I find that the edges of my items can be quite sharp- is it ok to sand them off ??
Total beginner here whats a sinker?
what is a sinker?
I think your right…. Add the ink before the resin…
why not try ink on glass mix befor putting in moulds ?
What do you mean a sinker?
Very cool!
