I grew up listening to Mac I was 18 and he was 17 when k.i.d.s came out, I was just amazed when I found out the kid was younger than me and made such a great mixtape. I feel like us just being the same age at one point really affected me. My girlfriend and I were going to see him on October 31st for his swimming tour, and ended up going to his celebration of life concert instead. When I found out it happened I went to his house and got him flowers and had an american spirit on his steps. I've never cried before for a celebrity death, but it's like I knew him you know, I got to see the progression of how he was a rapper talking about weed, girls, and brands. To seeing how he was different when writing best day ever to seeing him go from depressed to feeling in love with divine feminine and back to depressed with swimming. Mac Miller isn't my favorite rapper ever. He's my favorite musician ever. He inspired me to start playing piano again after his death. R.I.P Malcolm.
this comment made me tear up. I've been listening to Mac my whole life and when I found out about his death it was, just like you, the first celebrity death I've had emotions over. Senior Skip Day to me is an absolute masterpiece, hell it's my favourite song of all time, along with the entire K.I.D.S. album. Not only that album but all his work; his beats, his lyrics, everything. Congratulations is a whole other song that I can't even begin to go on about how much of a work of art it is. Ever since his passing I've made 2 paintings dedicated to him, along with a third in the making. He was a bright light in the world of darkness, and he still continues to shine. Rest in Peace, Mac Miller.
honestly after his death i checked out his music and man mac was truly one of the greatest in my eyes. true artistry. 2009 simply defines a good song. i can’t even classify what genre it fits in. from blue slide park to swimming. malcom is simply one of the greatest. i thank him for every emotion he’s made me feel whole listening to his masterpieces.
The Divine Feminine album came at a time where I really needed it but his production skill wad really made apparent to me when I learned that he produced SZA's Ur... The man was just a crazy talent.
@@thenickbennettshow6691 when i saw mac at his pittsburgh show for Good AM he did a variety of songs from all his work but he specically wanted to play perfect circle/god speed. He almost appearex apologetic for wanting to play it but he was a real one
Mac’s song ROS portrayed the perfect emotions of how I felt in my last 3+ year relationship. Heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. A bitter sweet song with a lovely tender memory.
I think learning how to play ROS by Mac has helped me with improvisation in jazz/blues which was something I believed was going to be impossible. It’s helped me understand more of a theoretical view, and the song itself is very pretty on the piano. If it wasn’t for Mac I wouldn’t be able to play something so fun and so pretty. Rest Easy Mac
Learning this as the first time playing piano. On the first night I learned the right hand, really motivating. Tonight, I’m learning the left hand, which feels way harder, but I’m using stickers to know the chords. My plan is to play repeatedly the left hand until I memorize it and can play without looking, after that I intend to implement both hands, really slowly, I know it will take time to play both hands though.
Mac was such an amazing artist. During my highschool years till forever. Best memory was seeing you perform live @ Woohah! In Tilburg (Netherlands). This was one of your first songs you did and it was so special to be there at that moment! Rest in Power Mac. ❤️
Idk congratulations gives me this nostalgic love feeling the simple but complex piano part but his lyrics and his voice bring it all together and the song in a whole is just very special to me
Actually this song is the one that save my life at one point and this is my favorite song of him. I still don’t have a piano but soon I’ll buy one and learn this song by heart.
I have way too many Mac songs that fit the mood of my life at the time they were released…. KIDS was my HS jam when I was partying like crazy…. and unfortunately I ended up being diagnosed with bipolar and schizoaffective later in college and that’s where Macadelic hit me hardest with songs like TFAB and The Question… I could go on and on but Mac is going down to me as one of the GOATs of my generation. I already know how to play piano and I’ve been wanting to learn how to play this song for ages so thanks for the amazing tutorial!
Mac is the reason I want to learn piano, it wasn’t until I heard “Everybody” from his latest album Circles when I decided I’d embark on this journey. Miss him everyday, and hope that I’ll be able play most of his songs to keep the music alive
Amazing I love this. Such a beautiful peace on the piano and a very talented artist Mac Miller made the most impressive lyrics too. After looking more into his life and events that happened he was such an amazing peace. I know god gave him grace in heaven and he has made a large impact on the earth that he left behind.
I hate that i listened to him after his passing but with the way everything was going, I feel like God put Mac's music at the right time in my life which saved me. I don't think stuff like that is coincidental so i just have this overwhelming gratitude toward's Mac's music. 2009 was the song that made me feel at peace knowing someone else felt the same way i did.💛
Grew up with Macs music and then after a few years not listening my now best friend showed me his tiny desk concert. It kindled our friendship in tough time watching it together. Love you Mac
ive got no idea if you still look at comments from this video but thank you for making this, this is my favourite song by mac and ive wanted learn how to play it for three years now. im a huge mac fan and learning this makes me so happy
I like how you compared this song to Erik Satie's works considering he's by far my favorite pianist. I guess I just never made the comparison of the two, but it makes sense now why I like it so much. Thanks for the vid
Knock Knock by Mac Miller was a really strong impact on my childhood and it got me into his music. He's one that can't be replicated, may he rest in peace.
First of all RIP to Mac Miller he was my hero in every sense of the word. He will be missed dearly. And thank you for making this video. Will you be doing other songs?
The entire Faces mixtape hit home hard. I was going thru a rough time , I was stuck in a shithole , started drinking and smoking that eventually lead to cocaine for a short while. Almost killed myself at one moment. When I heard faces it kinda woke me up , seeing how he was made me think bout how I was and how it could end. The bar “I’m more than what I think of myself, I really have to be, sit at home and drink by myself, my thoughts harassing me” really hits home. The entire mixtape is just something else but Grand Finale will always be my favorite song along with Smile.
Thankyou for sharing this, I’ve always wanted to learn to play this song - beautiful. senior skip day always takes me back to when I was 12 years old, reminds me of goofing around with my friends, without a care in the world, i miss him deeply, thanks again♥️
Faces. There's no ifs ands or buts about it. That mixtape completely changed my look on music. Its inspired me to get into music production myself, and get into songwriting. The structure, the jazzy instrumentals, the deep, dark lyrics in the songs. Its just incredible. Mac was my inspiration for music. He would've been the first concert I went to as well. Was right about to buy tickets to see him in Orlando.. Im still really depressed about his death 2 and a half years later.
I am learning this song because my and my girlfriend broke up and this was her favorite song, I showed her all of Mac Miller, I hope that they’re both doing well wherever they are
Senior skip day made me get through highscool and lots of break ups and generally kept my spirits high through the toughest times of my life 💔🕊your life lives on Mac 👍🏼
Going through a tough time, sincerely. I’m at such a young age and I already feel overwhelmed by life. I’ve emotionally lost a lot of myself. But upon listening to this first song of this album, I’ve finally felt a sense of hope. There’s a hope somewhere that we don’t know that’s there but is always waiting for us to reach it
grew up listening to all his music, they’re so many i songs i loves by him which makes picking a favorite song difficult, i want to learn this song by him, R.i.P Mac Miller
Good evening was the first song I heard from K. I. D. S. and actually the first song I heard/instantly loved by mac, actually when I was with the first person I ever "loved". Brings back the same goosebumps, now bc Mac is gone it feels extra special 💜
Wow, i can actually do this! I just studied this piano chord sheet and im able to play(definitely needs improvements) but all i have to do is be patient and open minded and then ill be able to play this song. Although my piano is a little crappy- but thanks for this!
guys this song is kinda hard for beginners:’) I have no idea how to play at all except that one french song- I took like all day to memorize the notes but now i have to learn to put it all together😭 i’ll update when i learn it !!:)
drod845 you will get used to it if you keep practicing reaching far keys. When you play piano you want to imagine your hand holding a ball, and you pressing down with your fingers still with that ball under your hand. *not laying hand flat on the piano touching keys with your palms*
I found a free keyboard in someone’s driveway, and this’ll be the first song I learn on it! I always wanted to learn this song, but my families old piano shit the bed about a year ago.
Give it a shot! You can put your arm out in front of you, palm up, and with your other hand, pull your fingertips down, not too hard. There should be no pain. That's a good stretch for before and after practice!
Rip Mac🙏he was always so joyful. Drugs had to take him at 26, it's sad to see him go young. My favorite song is dunno. My favorite memory is everything. The dude was hilarious😂

He’s the reason I learned 🤣
His song Cinderella, just the solo part for him in the red room, was the reason I bought one & started myself. Loved this lesson.

did mac cone up with this melody?
how can i learn to play both left and right hand at the same time? it’s so hard
Real
I got the right hand down but learning the left hand movements is rough, especially playing the right and left at the same time.
Keep up the practice - stay with a slow tempo until both hands are cooperating!
I found a free keyboard in someone’s driveway, and this’ll be the first song I learn on it! I always wanted to learn this song, but my families old piano shit the bed about a year ago.
