Put your left foot on the left foot peg (facing forward like you were riding on the bike). Next stand on the foot peg and bring your right leg across the seat. Start out by doing this with the kickstand down first, then practice doing it without the kickstand. Finally, do it by getting a rolling start first.
Thats what I do with my CRF250L. At stop signs I scoot my but over to the side and tilt and I can flat foot it. When I get off I stand up while the bike is still moving and bring my leg over and jump off bike the bike is coming to a stop. It may look silly but it works without jeopordizing your suspension with a lowering link.
Here’s how you can easily gain 6+ inches for free without a lowering link. 1. The suspension under your own body weight should drop 2 inches. 2. You can install a lowered seat or shave down the existing seat and drop the seat height up to 3 inches. 3. Wearing mx/enduro shoes will also give you 1+ inches of extra height. It’s important to note that I would never advise riding any bike without setting up the suspension sag for your body weight properly, because without proper suspension sag your suspension will barely work, which could result in getting yeeted off your bike.

drop the forks in the tripple clamp as far as you can, MAKE, don't buy a lowering link for the rear suspension, the store bought ones only give you an inch or so at the most... you need more than that ! carve down the seat only leave 1" of foam and taper the edges.... and wear BOOTS , only an idiot wears tennis shoes on a bike ! if you cannot touch the ground flat footed you are a danger to yourself and the machine I am short as well, 5'10" yet I fixed the height of my Honda XRL 650 so I could sit on it with my feet flat on the ground. it's seat height was 34" on level ground i got it to 30" by doing the above forget that you loose ground clearance ! you can still go over 2' logs in the bush it just takes experience.
Why can't they just make the dual sport motorcycles a couple inches shorter, say 34" seat height, which would work for MOST people??? The off road and dual sport motorcycles made back in the 70s and 80s were much more user friendly with lower seat heights. I guess they only make them for giants nowadays.
I think the CRF250L is about 35 inches. But, I actually lowered the wr by shaving the seat and putting on the yamalink just as an experiment. I have a video of what I got the seat height too. I think it was around 35 inches.
Been riding a 2014 yamaha ttr230, and just recently purchased a 2019 wr250f. The height is too tall, and having a crash on flat dirt makes getting back on almost impossible. I was at my first single track race last year when everything was wet deep mud, tried to use the kick stand to get on but it just sunk down. I had to find a big rock just to get back on the bike. Now getting the bike lowered but the thing is still going to be too tall. These manufacturers need to build bikes for short riders that have some power. Even considering building my own. A Yamaha TTR230 frame with a 450 motor, anyone know if it would work ?
Lowering will mess up the bike's geometry,,, I just put training wheels on mine problem solved :D , seriously I'm also 5'5 with 31 inseam, I get by just one leg over and stop and go with one leg down on my WR250 R , even on my other bikes that I can flat foot ( 2012 street triple) I still do the same way, I rarely even never put two foot down .
I dont know what are training wheels, but all i can find on google are training wheels for pitbikes... Where can i buy training wheels for husqvarna bikes on the internet?
@@waynelast1685 wow, wish I had responded to these 3 years ago. the problem with thinking you need 2 feet to keep a bike from falling is very false, specially in the trails ( off raod), Off road riding is where it is more important to that one can rely on one leg on the ground, in the trails the ground has dips and holes, and obstacles that makes it harder to put both feet on the ground ( even for a very tall person), in the trails most of the time you will not be able to flat foot.
Ha short leg syndrom. The best is reversing in front of people or trying to throw your leg over the first time when you are stiff. You are right short legs can be overcome offroad with skill. Check out some of the shorter female enduro racers making moves on race bikes. Definitely affects confidence and learning curve but shouldnt hold anyone back.
You might be good on level ground but in the trails its a no no IMO..but yes there's hope, contact racetech suspension services and they can lower the bike by modifying the front forks and shock internally, no lowering links and forks raised in triple clamps involved, just the correct way. Get a seat concept low seat and aim for a seat height of 34 inches. You would still have plenty of ground clearance and a bike that handles just great.
ripmax333 The only thing I might do is get the seat. Otherwise, my confidence off-road has increased dramatically and I don't feel I need to lower the bike. I do have trouble with very slow technical areas off-road. Thanks for the comment!
One foot is good if you don’t have to struggle on a trail or in a shitty and slippery mud...then two legs closer to the ground give you enormous amount of confidence...or maybe I’m just a shitty rider :D

Illumijoshy Sweet! Really appreciate it. Buying this Wr has been the best thing. I'll be sure to check out your blogs too. Thanks
Oh this sucks, I'm five six with 27.5 inch inseam. Thanks for the review.
It's all good my inseam is 27 too we can get around it
It's all good I'm 5'2 with a 27 inseam. We can get around it
Надо было показать, как этот парнишка будет в лесу или в колеях.
drop the forks in the tripple clamp as far as you can, MAKE, don't buy a lowering link for the rear suspension, the store bought ones only give you an inch or so at the most... you need more than that ! carve down the seat only leave 1" of foam and taper the edges.... and wear BOOTS , only an idiot wears tennis shoes on a bike ! if you cannot touch the ground flat footed you are a danger to yourself and the machine
I am short as well, 5'10" yet I fixed the height of my Honda XRL 650 so I could sit on it with my feet flat on the ground. it's seat height was 34" on level ground i got it to 30" by doing the above
forget that you loose ground clearance ! you can still go over 2' logs in the bush it just takes experience.
hahah that intro had me laughing so hard!
💅👴💅 U IDIOT , U CLOWN , SHUT UP
Why can't they just make the dual sport motorcycles a couple inches shorter, say 34" seat height, which would work for MOST people???
Great video 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Lowering will mess up the bike's geometry,,, I just put training wheels on mine problem solved :D , seriously I'm also 5'5 with 31 inseam, I get by just one leg over and stop and go with one leg down on my WR250 R , even on my other bikes that I can flat foot ( 2012 street triple) I still do the same way, I rarely even never put two foot down .
Thanks for your input Manny. I almost bought a Street Triple on 2 occasions but I went with the WR. Still would like a Street Triple. Love that bike.
I dont know what are training wheels, but all i can find on google are training wheels for pitbikes... Where can i buy training wheels for husqvarna bikes on the internet?
Gábor Kovács csak vittszel, nem létezik, is hogyha létezik akkor ogy is rosszul fog kinézni
My opinion is you need 2 feet for control of the bike on the trails?
Yeah for a low low price of 1500.00
@@potatopobobot4231 I think it possible to ride well but having longer inseam def helps with controlling the bike IMHO
I will put the yamalink and chainsaw 2.5 inches off the seat. Done.
Shorter is a struggle in city traffic. But better in motocross racing.
What is your height?Just wondering im interested in supermotards. : )
Helheim 5' 5"
Ok. Thank you : )
im 5.1 not good for me hahah
Never say never...
@@jammarules im going to buy 2019 KTM 690 SMC R Seat Height 890 Mm im 5.1 lets see
TAMILCLAN how’d it go please?
Need self balancing tech on these bikes..About time
😂 im 13 and getting a crf250r and can almost flatfoot er
One foot is good if you don’t have to struggle on a trail or in a shitty and slippery mud...then two legs closer to the ground give you enormous amount of confidence...or maybe I’m just a shitty rider :D
You are right about that, two feet beats the hell out of one toe.
You are beefy shorter guy, that helps too 😂
Revzilla intros are so annoying😂
Why you keep on jumping on your bike 🤣
Not sure... I do some stupid shit in this video.
Your missing a MAJOR factor..Age Mr.....im 60+ 5'8" 30in INSEAM ..im lowering any & every way possible..PERIOD... I can out ride better than 50% of the young folk out there it's just a matter of feeling more confident & safe ..like most pro riders have had Thier bikes suspension modified ..but who can afford it ..so learn how I says ...thats the ticket. BOYZ .SHIM AWAY N IT OPENS A WHOLE NEW WORLD ..LEAST TO ME..THAT IS N EVERYONE NOW WANTS THIERS DONE RIGHT..SO BE IT..SKILLS MR. SKILLS..LEARNEM
If I had started on a lower bike, I think it definitely would have helped build my confidence. So I agree with you sir.
HAHAHA THE INTRO
Well did you do anything to your bike? Was hard to concentrate on you talking. lol
kyckling korv Sorry. I have a little ADD. No I did not do anything to the bike. It is stock.
If you ride a bike that doesn't fit you, you will crash often
Chris Gordon nah.
5ft 2in with a 29in inseam. I ride a dr-650 with no issues.
