  • After a few days of taking care of some other stuff, I was able to get back to the small clearing job and get back on the 941. With all the low hanging limbs, my muffler took a beating. Since I was only clearing brush and not doing any grubbing, I didn't have to work the machine too hard. There was minimal digging and topsoil removal.

    I own and operate the bigger younger brother to this machine. A 973C, i just did 5 days of land clearing and improvements. I feel a track loader is an extremely versatile machine and is underrated. Nice work keeping the old machine going!

      I completely agree. Thanks. I hear the 973 is a beast. The only ones I’ve been close to have been in landfills.

      @@HammaDownEnterprises you are definitely not wrong. It’s about 30 ton. Equivalent to a D7 but I feel could outwork a D7 in most aspects. Sure likes to drink fuel though. High idle all day long when the 7 could run decelerated pedal a lot.

    Terry from Christchurch New Zealand, nice work my friend, good to see these old machines are still plodding along with a respectfully operator not beating her up. I've got a wee komatsu d31s 17 track loader with opening bucket and love changing round the motocross track. Slow and steady wins the race. Such handy machines. Good for the soul playing in the dirt i recon. Love ua work hope ua get as much satisfaction and fun as i do playing on your tonka lol.

    If your bucket is tilt forward 3to5inches and you hit stump does your bucket actually tilt forward like a relief valve open up

      No, it has not done that. If I come up against something immovable, the tracks will spin.

    That's a tracked loader. There's no such machine. There is an excavator. I'm 68 and I have never heard of a tracavator.

    • @HammaDownEnterprises
      @HammaDownEnterprises  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ronald Harris traxcavator. It’s an old term. Look it up

    • @HammaDownEnterprises
      @HammaDownEnterprises  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Traxcavator was a namebrand of the Trackson Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The word "Traxcavator" came from combining "tractor" and "excavator".

      Actually, the 1964 Caterpillar 955H has a plate mounted on the frame rails that says "TRAXCAVATOR." My dad had one of those and that's what he called it too.
