When I see this, I feel a little sad because there’s just no replacing Jefferson Starship and when Craig was in his prime, he just looked and moved so much better. Age has not been kind to him, but I still respect this guitar player and his music it has stirred my emotions for years. 👏👍🤘🤘🤘
Saw him there with his band there that night...REALLY ROCKING. ALTHOUGH FROM L.A, I really like the SanFran ROCK SCENE...San Rafael is not long past the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County...REMEMBER, SAN FRANCISCO was the locus of the SUMMER OF LOVE, 1967...They were the JEFFERSON AIRPLANE BEFORE THEY BECAME THE JEFFERSON STARSHIP AND LATER JUST STARSHIP. Craig Chaquico didn't join the band until around 1974...he was only a kid, barely out of high school. Here he is every bit the distinguished gentleman in his late 50s, early 60s that he seems to be...
I saw these guy's at the Irvine Amphitheater, Cailf. back in 82. First rate show, This song stole the show. The guitar solo was crazy good blow your mind. Craig was much younger with more energy back then. The crowd was either in a trance or yelling at the top of their lungs.
I saw Craig play with the Starship at the Greek Theater in 1975 (I think) and his guitar lead in to White Rabbit took me to another place. One of my most memorable moments in Rock and Roll. Incredible !!
Save Your Love song is one of the best feeling song ever and this outro guitar wow !!!! fabulous !! it energize me a lot. This song form Modern Times 1981 album is in my Top 10 of all my favorites song so thank you Craig a million times for this wonderful guitar song !!
That solo on the record is epic. Definitely one of my favorite guitarists, and always playing tasteful licks. many of the songs of Freedom at point Zero and modern times are iconic.
I saw a tweet from Elon about his "Starship" taking people to Mars. It lead me back to Modern Times-Alien which led me to Save Your Love, then here. I haven't listened to this in decades. Amazing song!
At 1st I'm like...Giv Mickey justice dude...By the 2nd verse, ya got me...Kick ass version. I held my breath 1st minute I think... Best era of JS. Period.
Still to this day one of the greatest guitar solos ever. I ran into Craig at the Hilton Hotel in Lansing, Michigan, in summer 1986. Some friends and I got to talk to him for about fifteen minutes in the hallway at, like, 2:00 in the morning. It's this song that I brought up. I told him I thought the solo is one of the greatest ever recorded. He seemed genuinely happy to hear some kid's opinion. A humble and nice guy. Glad to see he's still out there rocking this incredible song live.
I had the same conversation with Craig back in the mid-90s when I ran into him at a Music Gear Expo thing in San Francisco. I CANNOT believe no one has remastered/released Modern Times on CD !?!? It is their best record BY FAR !!
I will go on record, as a guitar player and a lover of ALL passionate, well-written Music, that the outro solo to Save Your Love is one of the best and most inspiring solos for me, of ALL time !!! :-) ♫
I agree with you 100%! The solo on that particular song, just smokes, and when ever I play it on my internet radio stream, I hate for it to end! It’s a real piece of art work!!
I double down on that. I saw these guy's at the Irvine Amphitheater, Cailf. back in 82. The guitar solo was crazy good blow your mind live. It's one of the G.O.A.T.s. I still air-guitar the fuck out of this song every time I hear it. Johnny Winters licks on Still Alive and Well are a close 2nd.
As always, Greg Chaquico kicks serious A! His guitar playing reminds of Zeus hurling his thunderbolts from Mount Olympus. Although I miss Grace Slick and Mickey Thomas, I happen to love this live version of "Save Your Love," probably my all time favorite song. I used to think "This Town" by the Go-Gos was my all time favorite but I believe this one is. Ironically, it was my favorite as a 16 year old on its release in 1981 until that structurally complex and winsome number by the Go-Gos. I'm going back to "Save Your Love" as my favorite of favorites.
Been a huge fan of Craig's since the 70's. I remember back in the 90's, my wife agreed to babysit a neighbors daughter and she brought all these Barney (Purple Dinosaur) videos over to watch. I couldn't take it, so I went out and bought this Gumby video where he was a rock star. Gumby's guitar playing in that movie blew me away and it sounded so familiar. I wasn't surprised to find out that it was actually Craig on guitar. Glad you're still rockin' Craig. Save Your Love was always one of my fav's along with Find Your Way Back, Jane, Keep On Dreaming, Winds of Change, Can't Find Love, ....
One of the great Guitar solo of all times ,always love to play this tune to get my day stated off right , LOL to Craig C.for many great mornings,From the Dighero Family.**J.
this song has always been a favorite . Definitely not the same , but I appreciate Craig keeping the song alive . I enjoyed it , but will never match the Jefferson Starship version . Thanks Graig for your awesome guitar playing .
No offense, I need the drums to be more thunderous. I always thought that was a key instrument in the song. Taking nothing away from Craig's superb guitar work of course
Also, it is obvious that Mr Chaiquo is more than aware that he playing beside a mediocre coterie of musicians, nothing like the BAND that was Jefferson Airplane become Jefferson Starship-transmogrified (through legal battles) as Starship; it is such a realization on his part that is the driving force behind his modest, if not humble approach of not attempting to upstage these comparative amateurs-not that he ever tried to upstage the other members of the real BAND--because they bounced off each other with electrifying creativity and a zestful energy...In those days, Craig Chaiquo played among Giants...
Well said my friend. It's sad too, that they could have had a long-lived, great career like their friends across the Bay - Journey, but for some odd reason, their creativity ( not to mention, their BEST band line up ) seemed to peak with the Modern Times record. Anyway, it's great to see Craig still tearing it up on stage. I just wonder how busy he is these days for work since the New Age thing is not hot like it was back in the early to mid '90s .
Geez? What an incredible cheap shot of horse crap! It's his show and his band is complementary, enthusiastic and doing a great job. Are you a swarmy rock critic or a troll? At least this fabulous song is alive and someone is playing it and making fans happy. I'll echo the sentiment above. Can you do better?
I have to admit Craig is new to me, I'm from the UK so his music is not so well known, his playing is extraordinary and melodious ,this performance is very professional and thoroughly enjoyable ,no matter how good the original band members were ,its now that counts not something in the far distant past. Also its great to see the girls doing their part well, (which some men are no doubt jealous of) good for them. perhaps that's the real issue here, not the playing.
What a disappointing performance from a great guitar player starting with his tone. Over chorused crap. You know he probably didn’t even have his own rig. And the singers caterwauling was insufferable.
Craig was my favorite 80s guitarist there was nobody sexier or more gorgeous than then him. All these years later I still love him with this band.
When I see this, I feel a little sad because there’s just no replacing Jefferson Starship and when Craig was in his prime, he just looked and moved so much better. Age has not been kind to him, but I still respect this guitar player and his music it has stirred my emotions for years. 👏👍🤘🤘🤘

Wow that was a really good number professionally performed ,guitar playing was most enjoyable ,best I've heard for a while....greetings from UK
Yes,San Rafael. Good olo Marin county. I love the life in 74
Craig Chaquico after all these years!
The King of guitar player 🎉🎉🎉👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Oh my Lord- Chaquico- Just DAMN
Le solo est un must, pour le faire à l identique impossible, mais se le rapprocher oui super faisable en travaillant énormément, bravo graig fabuleux
I saw a tweet from Elon about his "Starship" taking people to Mars. It lead me back to Modern Times-Alien which led me to Save Your Love, then here. I haven't listened to this in decades. Amazing song!
Just came across this song a few days ago and now I can't stop listening to it. This has quickly moved onto my list of all time favorite guitar solos.
We're proud of Craig in Sactown.
Still dreaming of the day we get to see you rip 10 minutes of St. Charles again
Tjanks for the guitar solo !!
Hidden gem, discovered it years ago and a staple on my favorites playlist!
That original recording is the best guitar solo of all time!!The entire last minute and a half of a 6 minute song. Perfect. Now I gotta get a T-shirt!
He responded to a comliment of mine. One nice guy, lethal with a guitar.
Amazing!
At 1st I'm like...Giv Mickey justice dude...By the 2nd verse, ya got me...Kick ass version. I held my breath 1st minute I think...
Best era of JS. Period.
Outstanding! Always one my favorites from Starship!
And maybe the best Starship song ever! Who wrote this baby! Best fucking tune ever written
Stranger is right up there.
Pete Sears wife wrote this beautiful song
:smiles: This has been in my top five guitar pieces from the first time I heard it

Can't agree with you more. This song literally changed my life when it first came out when I was 16 in 1981.
@@doyleperkins4916 honk , i have been a fan since i was 13 . in 1975 !

Totally!
Same feeling...
temon y cosa seria Craig Chaquico
Catchy tune 🎉 I heard that 👌
I was a huge fan prior to Mickey Thomas but this tune blows the roof off!
Craig has always been the very best for me, just cant get enough of his music. **J.
such a great tune from when Jefferson Starship were still a great rock band. Thanks for keeping this great song alive...
AWESOME!!! This song has been one of my favorites for years, still love this guitar... Great Craig Chaquico

Very great solo!
Put Craig within ten feet of a guitar and he's deadly with it. I mean he's as good as any guitarist and better than most.
Glad to see he didn't stay with just the Jazz he was doing for a while...
i first met craig in 1979 at the nyc gigs....he still has that talent he had back in those daze....aron pieman kay
Oh yeah, Baby!! I was hoping you'd cut loose during your solo. I'm sure that band enjoyed your being there. I'm going to play it again.

He's no Mickey Thomas but this frontman is still damned good, and I like the other vocalists.
"Bad Woman" is great song.

Yes, I see now...
Anybody know what's happened to Craig? Hasn't put out any new music in years.
He lives in Oregon and still plays gigs with bands like this 1:39
I'm savin' my love for that smokin' hot mama on the far left.

Ron Ernest amen. The band is great. Having a good time. That is what LIVE music is! Critics go away
who hung that cat from the tree....

@Queenfinger I think Save Your Love was one of the best solos ever.
what a complete and total IDIOT!
Can't believe you desecrated such a classic . Stop now
Terrible rendition of a killer song.
says you !
