Took a year off work to get back in shape. I lost over 80 pounds and I’m in the best shape of my life. 100% worth it. Good job taking charge of your health, wishing you all the best Dr. Webb!
Dr. Webb, thanks for sharing your fitness routine. I too have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic and have made improvements with eating and exercise. Now consuming fewer carbs with more fresh fruits and vegetables and eating smaller portions of lean meats, my weight has dropped considerably. I've also benefitted from walking five times a week with friends that help me with consistency. I hope that more Black men follow your lead responding to diabetic diagnosis to live longer healthier lives.
Glad you are getting in shape. Last year I decided that I was sick of getting fat while I worked a desk job from home. I gave up drinking, watched my diet, and then started running and biking. Down 68 lbs and back to a healthy BMI 10 months later.
Good recommendation. Road cycling is something that is tough to dip your toes into, but it is worth buying a quality bike for your first bike. Resale value will be better if the hobby ends up not being for you, and you won't immediately want a different bike if it is something you like.
your videos motivate me. while still in undergrad, i'm working every single day toward my goal. you're an inspiration and these workout videos are everything right now
Hills are the way! After a few months ditch the e-bike and get a carbon road or gravel bike with climbing gears (compact crankset). Trust me you will love it!
As a medical student, busy with all the stress and things that come with it, working out is essential to me. I took it to another level and decided to train hard enough to podium in an Ironman in my age group.
I had no idea you were a nurse before im an RN too at methodist! Currently doing pre med @utsa , i was already going through premed , and now i find out one of my fav physicians on yt was a nurse too!!!
Good health is wealth! Just be consistent with the exercise, stay hydrated, eat right and sleep well. Having a low body fat percentage helps A LOT. Low body fat percentage leads to having a 6 pack and a nice lean (and muscular with weight lifting) physique. Most importantly, you will feel AMAZING and will feel the improvement 💪🏾
Good job. Highly recommend we each find a fitness or exercise plan we can dedicate ourselves to keeping/during a few days a week. In addition, I have to watch what I eat as well.
I need to get back into riding my e-bike. Before Covid, I rode it everywhere. (enough to get overuse injuries) Mine has an extended cab on the back with a moped trunk bolted on so I can carry groceries home in it.
@@antoniowebbmd you keep me motivated. At 3-4am I’m up not because I want to but because my thinking is, is that I know Antonio is up putting in work so I am as well. I’ve loss and gained throughout the years my lowest 280 I’ve ballooned to 451. Before it was kind of for vanity I ain’t gone lie I’ll keep it a band. But now it’s for health and longevity. My career and family. Today was day 2. God bless
Dr. Webb, question on your last video on the neurosurgeon who quit. What genuinely is motivating you to stay in medicine and in spine surgery despite all the issues you admit do plague the field (insurance, reimbursement, pts with co-morbidities)?
Great question. Medicine is still a fascinating and rewarding career despite reported downsides. Every career field has them. You just have to find a career where your passion lies.

Awesome!!
Great Job Dr Webb!
Looking at your hip -knee angle, your saddle is 1-2 inches too low. You will get a better workout and less fatigue with proper saddle height.
I recommend Trek Domain AL 2 Gen 4 bike , cycling is a great sport after stressful day in clinic
