+Dan Lundberg on the most recent presented with comment he talks about how he lost it recently moving to his new house but he hasn't fully unpacked yet so he may find it still!
Planes measure wind via pitot tubes embedded in the fuselage, I believe. The tubes use the displacement of liquid, in a u-tube, caused by air flows to determine pressure differences. From those you can calculate wind-speeds.
+Strappleberry Nifkin Engineering student and aviation enthusiast checking in: You're half right. They haven't used liquid in u-shaped tubes for decades - the replacement is little metal bellows that expand or contract with changes in pressure. But basically, yes. They have a tube with hole that faces forward which feels the pressure of the wind just plowing against the plane, and they have tubes with holes that face sideways that *don't* feel that pressure, and the difference between the two is the wind speed relative to the plane.
+Strappleberry Nifkin Also the airplane only cares about the speed of the air its experiencing, So a plane with a 80mph stall speed in a constant 100mph headwind can have a negative 20mph groundspeed. Thus the Pitot tubes is the only thing you need to keep a plane in the air.
+T. Wiggins Isn't he a creative director now? I think that technically puts him above Geoff, or at least equal in terms of hierarchy. He might as well be considered a boss because of his deep involvement in the growth of Rooster Teeth
+maximus9401 honestly i do not think Gavin will ever be higher than Geoff. Geoff helped start Roosterteeth and Gavin will not be able to top that. The only way to do that is if Geoff stepped down.
+Marblez3 Granny smith are the best indeed, it's not just because they are genuinly good. But because they are so very different in terms of flavor. Amazing if you want something slightly different in cooking as well that doesn't have that typical sweet apple flavor.

The reason behind the smoking on planes question is interesting. they used to cycle the air on planes from the outside, idk the exact details but obv you have to get it up to cabin pressure which took power from the engines, so the airlines were early adopters of banning smoking to make them more fuel efficient. now everyone just gets sick from the duty used air...
Former air traffic controller here. I love it when you guys talk about stuff you don't know much about. I still laugh when I think about you guys talking about the planets and planetary orbits. LOVE YOU GUYS!
I was thinking of downloading some rt podcasts to listen to on my flight tomorrow, then I remembered everyone with Gus on it basically turns into airplane crash hour.
What I learnt from this podcast: Gavin is so rich he can buy a new house WITHOUT selling his old one, I would like to point out that I DON'T begrudge Gavin the money he's accumulated through his cinematography work but I do get annoy when people act like Gavin isn't rich when he clearly is.
***** gavin and geoff always avoid the topic of how much money they have, but everyone at rooster teeth who's been there for at least 4-5 years is fairly well off. gavin even more so thanks to his ability with the phantom flex and it's variants. everyone knows gavin's good on cash, and with meg being a model and working for rooster teeth, they make a pretty penny indeed. but gavin will never brag about how much money he has, and will deny having as much as he does out of modesty. despite the fact that he casually buys $400k cameras, then swings them around, throws them and generally acts like they're cheap gopro knockoffs.
***** what? reporting on how he treats his camera is immature? i said that partly because it demonstrates how little he's worried about his money. he breaks the camera, whatever, he'll just buy a new one.
wikipedia says there is 29 countries that have french as an official language, and 21 countries that have Spanish as an official language. Gavin was right.
+GoingPuddleJumping true but Haiti and small islands of the Caribbean don't even come CLOSE to the population of most countries that are Spanish speaking, like Mexico, and most of South America.
So this is the "Important People/Heads of Rooster Teeth" Podcast + Gavin (even though he's taken on a bigger role recently than just an employee). I like it.
In Norway there was a "competition" to make the best car safety add, and the winner was really good. It's played in reverse and you see all the belts the driver has to wear after his crash, for example the straps on his wheelchair and on the gurney the ambulance uses. Then it ends with him NOT fastening his belt in his car. Powerful stuff.
Here in Latin America, natural trees aren't a thing, maybe because pines are not as common, but I've never seen anyone having a real Christmas tree inside their house.
"There is a lot of continents where people only speak spanish" wtf how many continents do you think it exist? 20? the most prominent spanish speaking is america, and only half of the continent.
A 40 mph wind gust advisory is an indicator of the lowest level of structural damage which is from a secondary source like tree limbs. It's an advisory to tell you basically to not park your car under a tree. Not necessarily for your own safety per say.
Back in the 90's Singapore airlines had a system that let you play the full super mario world, sonic games, and even megaman games. It was awesome. Also I always get the only broken chair :(

Yeah some of those workplace safety ads here (Canada) got banned for being too gruesome. There was one where a building exploded, so a construction worker fell off of the building and you see the body falling down and hit the ground.
Dang Burnie was on the Amazing Race! I hope so bad I can get access to it wherever I end up stationed. Best reality competition ever in my opinion, mixed with the infamous Rooster Teeth? I'm there!
The Australian passport comment by Gus is so true. i've been through there plenty of times as an Aussie and it's just hilarious the amount of people who line up at those 2 machines
I brought my movie ticket online, showed up 20minutes before movie start time, got some food and then they opened the cinema to seat 10 minutes early and it was about 30 people going to see Star Wars. So simple, easy and less packed then I thought. Really awesome and great movie.
as an airplane mechanic, i have to say IFEs (in flight entertainment) is the bain of our existence every single time one plane comes in an A-check with this system at least 2 screens, 13 jacks, and 12 controlers have to been replaced and remember before this we just need to test them one by one
For those who don't know, the main reason why Hawaii has such strict laws is because when the first ships came over, they brought rats. Hawaii has no natural predators and as a result, the rat population exploded. Then some nut decided to bring over the mongoose, thinking they'll eat the rats. The mongooses didn't eat the rats, they ate the birds, and as a result, like thirty species of Hawaiian birds went into extinction practically overnight. So now Hawaii is super strict about everything you bring over. If you bring your pet and don't have the proper papers to prove they're disease/tick free, they'll be put into quarantine for a month.

When Burnie was laughing for half a minute after talking about the Star Wars screening, was he laughing about the fake screening prank?
Yeah probably
Best possible podcast combo in my opinion. Could only be better by adding Geoff and Griffon but that era is long gone.

Matt on a podcast? This'll be a treat.
I'm from India and Burnie mentioned India as well as learning Hindi. I live in MI and he mentioned Lansing, MI. This was a good podcast for me.

Nope. No YTR in Canada. Saw the movie without it, and I'll be passing on the BluRay. Utter disappointment.
Zed Chuva I thought it was alright as a movie, but I enjoyed it mostly as a novelty in that it came from Rooster Teeth
