We've been having the same problem with the Atari Flashback 9 Gold. The strange thing is, it worked earlier with the same HDMI cable and TV, and now turning it on, the TV says "signal not found" (but the Flashback power LED is on). We tried a couple different cables and TVs and no luck, but will try a computer monitor and will see. Very frustrating!
Had the same problem with an Atari Flashback 9 Gold. Read on atariage.com that the Flashback may not be compatible with some TVs. Tried another tv and it worked fine.

Iy would be really cool if someone did a direct HDMI mod.
Some of those HDMI cables are just low end junk.
