    😥 This is unfair! Auction for 230 coins and the regular people left without anything! At least make 1794 coins lottery like the silver medal one.

    Regarding 2:53, in 1830 at the United States Mint in Philadelphia, there arrived the bald eagle named Peter Jefferson who made it his home. He remains there today preserved as its mascot.

    Don’t auction off 230 privy mark in December. That is back-stepping the progress you just made with the community upon the release of the first set of privy marks on the silver coin.
    Trust me people won’t want to buy the gold flowing hair when you do this and you will lose more of peoples trust in the us mint.

    It is unfortunate that only the rich people will get a chance to obtain one of these special coins. The handling of the sale of the silver medal gave everyone a chance to own one. I bought a silver medal, and will never sell it.

      It was available with a Household Order Limit of 1 for over 30 hours. I have 2 apartments and 2 accounts, so I waited 2-3 minutes in the Waiting Room before I bought 2 in 45 seconds. I'll try to do the same for the gold coin. [A friend's brother isn't computer savvy, and I get him 1 when he asks me.]

      The US Mint made 17270 of the gold coins without the privy mark, and will offer them for sale on Nov 14 for under $4K. You can order one if you're ready at the time of the sale, and reasonable good at navigating the web site and filling out its forms.

    Why was the Flowing Hair Dollar made as a medal for 2024? I doubt collectors wanted that. It’s a beautiful piece and it should’ve been issued as a dollar as originally minted.

      New silver coinage must be approved by the US Congress. The US Mint doesn't need such approval for coins made of gold, platinum, or palladium, or medals made of those metals or silver. It's a quirky law, which likely has a history related to the act that forced the US gov to buy millions of ounces of silver and mint Morgan dollars that nobody wanted at the time.

      Only 230 of them. Check the Mint's press release, as it mentions an auction for them, with the first coin sold being specially packaged with a (çançelled) dïë. [NB: Ewe Toob bahns certain words.]
      Better views of the privy mark are shown at 04:07, 04:09, and 04:15 -- go to Settings to select full screen mode, high resolution, and playback speed of 0.25; pause; and then step through the frames to get the best view.
      Eventually, the Mint will update the page for 24YG to include high-resolution images with the privy mark.

    • @oahuhawaii2141
      @oahuhawaii2141 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The US Mint pricing grid doesn't have an entry specifically for the Flowing Hair gold coin (24YG). Its pricing likely will be similar to the American Liberty gold coins (23DA, 17XA), due to the similarities with those coins. The pricing formula is the Mint's weekly spot XAU, plus a premium of $965. The Liberty & Brittania gold coin is priced $55 higher, as it's a collaboration with the Royal Mint.
      The US Mint can handle the release of the 17,270 "regular" coins via its Waiting Room feature. Thus far, there are no details for the auction of the 229 coins with the privy mark. (I assume the US Mint will keep 1 for its collection.)

    • @oahuhawaii2141
      @oahuhawaii2141 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm guessing they'll be over $10K each, but the 1st one with the çançelled dïë will be well out of reach for most folks. Remember the 2020-W American Eagle gold coin with "V75" privy mark? The US Mint made 1,945 and kept 1 or 2 for itself. The 2024 Flowing Hair gold coin with "230" privy mark has a lower population of 230.
      I wish the plan was to mix them with the "regular" mintage, instead of being auctioned off, because I'm going to try to buy 1 on Nov 14, and it'll be a great gift if it has the privy mark.

    Why all the secrecy on these.releases? No pictures, no prices until 1 week before it drops? Privy, no privy? Come clean and quit playing these stupid games. $1,000 over the spot price of Gold? I don't have $3,800 lying around! Smaller versions, more affordable, keep the mintages low!

    • @paulmartinez1769
      @paulmartinez1769 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It has a privy only 230 will and they are auctioning them off for themselves so you gonna need a lot more than 3800 for the ones with a privy sadly

    • @oahuhawaii2141
      @oahuhawaii2141 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Part 1:
      The US Mint sets its weekly price of gold at the close of business every Wednesday, and updates the prices of each of their products based on the gold, platinum, or palladium content, plus a premium. The premiums can be computed from the pricing grid table it releases periodically. Unfortunately, 24YG isn't listed. I believe it'll be priced like the American Liberty gold coin (23DA, 17XA), as it has similar specifications (proof, high relief, .9999 AU, 1.000 ozt, 1.205" diameter, edge lettering for 17XA). It may cost a little more if it's priced like 24YA. The pricing formulas for these items are:

    • @oahuhawaii2141
      @oahuhawaii2141 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Part 2:
      XAU*(1 ozt) + $965 American Liberty (23DA, 17XA)
      XAU*(1 ozt) + $1020 Liberty & Britannia Gold Coin (24YA)

    • @oahuhawaii2141
      @oahuhawaii2141 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Part 3:
      Right now, spot XAU is $2684.04, so if the US Mint uses this in its weekly pricing, it'll set its XAU to $2650. Thus, these coins will be priced at $3615 and $3670, respectively.

    • @oahuhawaii2141
      @oahuhawaii2141 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Part 4:
      [Note that these coins have 1 ozt of gold. Other gold products may have 1.00, 0.50, 0.25, 0.10, 1.85 (gold set), or 0.245 (commemorative) ozt of gold, so the coefficient to XAU will change accordingly. Also, note that the premiums ($965 or $1020) differ for other products. There are 2 products that instead use XPT (platinum) or XPD (palladium). It's easy to compute the formulas for the US Mint's pricing grid, yet I wonder why it never publishes them to replace the large tables with a short list of 17 formulas, nor posts its weekly XAU, XPT, and XPD values.]
