Memórias e saberes - English version

The "Memórias e Saberes" project was created from a series of activities to strengthen traditions and preserve the memory of the candomblé communities. That´s possible to notice a lot of knowledge within those traditional communities, and because they have such unique historical constructions, these trajectories often follow different paths and learning. Even so, it´s correct to say this ancestral knowledge is connected in the same matrix.
With the “Memórias e Saberes” project, Ilê Omolu Oxum focuses on preserving and updating the traditions of candomblé terreiros and also focuses its efforts on the recognition and incorporation of black epistemologies in Brazilian symbolic and political production. From its own history and the other temples that gave rise to it.
