I want to point out that oxygen is different from air. Oxygen is only part of the air we breathe, which is a bit of a nitpick until you take into account the sheer amount of oxygen the entire chat is buying and filling their rooms with. In high concentrations, pure oxygen is extremely dangerous to inhale, so majority of the twitch chat has now died from oxygen poisoning. How will the oxygen economy run without them?
Don't worry, the exchange rate is about 5k points to one molecule of oxygen.
I feel like Doug's and Twitch Chat's career has been preparing for this moment.

I remember one of doug's other videos where chat kept on talking on how they just got divorced and needed marriage guidance or something, stuck to it throughout the entire stream
Yeah, Doug's chat is crazy. In almost every single stream, there is at least one recurring joke that chat absolutely runs with. In another Zelda video, there was this very long bit about Doug owning and running a grocery store called Doug Mart, and the bit escalated so much; it was insane.
I love how this isn’t really a “race,” more of a jog between friends who are trying to talk to each other between breaths. It’s casual, but still has that undercurrent of competition.
Plus, it’s more about the entertainment than the challenge.

Dougs chat is the reason he is one of the best. The chat is equally as part of the content as the streamer. Which actually makes Twitch worthwhile. On most twitch streams, chat just acts as a chat that the streamer views intermittently, while the chat on his stream is a secondary character. Which makes the format of a stream with chat worthwhile.
