    I feel like when Georgia defense is peaking, they can control games. Not to discredit their offense, but a Kirby Smart defense over the years has been able to fluster pretty much any offense. If it comes down to Oregon and Georgia at the end, I think if Georgia’s defense plays lights out; it’ll be hard for those Duck’s receivers to play like they have been

      I think the Oregon inability to stop the run is going to bite them hard against any of the four Round 1 programs in their bracket that emerges both to play them in Eugene and for the Semifinal if they make it through. Texas and Tennessee in particular really get going on offense when they can run the ball.

    Georgia’s front seven have elite eye discipline. They diagnosed / recognized the TX run plays almost instantly. You can tell they’ve watched a lot of film.

    • @jdtheguitartist
      @jdtheguitartist 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Part of that is schematics. They play 2-gap up front, so the goal isn’t for the front to get into the back field, but to stonewall the OLine, maintaining gap discipline, and peak and shed blockers when the run is coming

    • @Diallelus
      @Diallelus 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      What’s ironic about this is that they’ve had horrible eye-discipline all year except for the two games against Texas. The difference is Georgia has played a TON of mobile QBs this year, but they do not fear Quinn Ewers as a runner at all.

    • @jdtheguitartist
      @jdtheguitartist 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Really good analysis of the SEC championship game Cole. I 100% agree with you on Gunnar Stockton - the team had a totally different vibe when he entered the game. On the other side, I don't believe that Ewers is the guy for Texas. Yeah, he is talented and skilled, but I haven't seen that he is that leader with the "gimme the ball I will put the team on my back and get it home" mentality and will. I would not be overly surprised if Arch Manning gets a chance if any of their games get really tight. Ewers just doesn't seem to have 'it" and maybe doesn't have the team as well...
    Thanks again for what you do - without question you are the very best Xs and Os guy commenting on CFB and we NEED that !

    Kirby showed everyone that he might just be a damn good football coach, as if nobody was aware of that 😂. Dabo showed up and showed out well enough to stick a thorn in Alabamas side one more time. Just like I knew he was gonna do as soon as I saw that he got in the conference championship game with SMU. Love the guy but also hate his unending ability of seemingly always being the guy who keeps doing that sort of thing to my Tide.

    That is not what this was put in place for. It is not about who deserves anything. It was about putting the best teams in. That was the whole point behind having a committee. To have a human element to be able to say this team is better than this team. Therefore improving your product. This whole deserves this and deserves that. Look if you don't play an SEC school you have not done s***

      This is a new thing. I agree that Indiana and PSU had an easy path. So did Texas. Too many teams in these conferences now. The reality is that you can't truly judge team to team when there are +100 teams. We have a good idea, but we can't know. The auto bye's are the problem. No one is really complaining if the byes just went to the top 4 ranked teams and the next 4 got home games. THIS YEAR asu and especially Boise are causing a lot of angst as they are being considered easy 2nd round games for the 1st round winners. Guess we will see.

    As a Texas fan, the defense is good enough to win a national championship, the offense is not. Oline struggles against elit defensive linemen, run game has been poor most of the season, and Quinn ultimately is a blocker to this offense winning games like this. I remeber when Saban pulled qb's during championship games to win. With the regular season over this is what we're getting from this offense. I'm one to believe Arch would bring a spark, but I'm writing this season off unless a chagne happens at qb. I don't see it. This isn't a championship level offense.
