You are awesome Alexander, you keep impressing me in every video you make. Some of these footage are unreal, but you know what makes this journey even more interesting, a drone my friend.
THX for this awesome footage! I've been to Mt. Bromo about 20 years ago and I'm looking forward to feel the same experiences and the overwhelming emotions you felt - again in May 2018.
Hi, me and my friend are going there in a couple of days. How long did the hike take, from the hostle to bromo? And is it easy to find the way? And what hostle did you stay at? 😊 Thank you for sharing your experience
If i remember correctly, the hike took about an hour and a half to the first viewpoint. And if you want to hike to the second viewpoint, its another hour. Then to get to actual Bromo, its probably also a separate hour hike. I dont remember our place having a name, but they are all just a bunch of little houses in one area, all very close to each other. Just ask around when you arrive!
been there, done that - 37 years ago! When I saw it - which we combined with the pre-dawn walk, it was active and actually spewing rock in the air. The concrete stairs up the side were mostly destroyed by past flights of rock. The better off travelers would get there by horse (no motorbikes in my day). The people tending the horse would drop off the well-healed tourists and then move the horses and themselves off out of the range of flung rock. When we got to the top, following a recent explosion, we found a crazed Californian who had a hand-held video camera who was just totally stoked by the power of the volcano. We experienced another belch when we were up there - totally awesome.
Wow, everything seems to have been better back in the day. Wish I could have seen the spewing rock, but then, that does sound pretty scary. Did you have to dodge any up there?
Alexander Travelbum wasn't trying to imply it was better - just different. when we edge walking in the dark toward the volcano, we could see the flashlights of people who were slowly climbing up the stairs. there was an eruption before we got there and those same flashlights were seen coming down upon the blast at a super enhanced speed.
Hi Alexander! I'm Tri from Yogyakarta. We met before at Mt. Bromo viewpoint of the sunrise with your friends Jose, Mara and Kim. Great job with the video and thanks for introducing one of most beautiful mountain of Indonesia to the world #WonderfulIndonesia You and your friends have a lot of guts tracking sides of Mt. Bromo crater without safety ropes thats remind when I was tracking Mt. Raung with minimun safety too. Thumbs up!
Tri Sutrisno oh wow nice to see you here, watching the video after meeting each other. Yeah, it was a little daring, but so worth it. That day was one of the best of my life
happy to know you came to Bromo last year. If you come to currently, theres so many foreign tourists come to Bromo, and it lil bit crowded with local tourist too. 😅😅😅
Hi Alexander! Your video is amazing and i was wondering where did you find the information for the paths you took? Your viewpoint of the sunrise 2:28 was also beautiful, which one is it?
EVANGELIA PAPADOPOULOU we just asked locals when we arrived. There is one path you can take to get to the viewpoint, and where we watched sunrise was the first stop toward the top. There are two viewpoints, and you'll know when you get there
Hey Alex, I am planning to travel next Month with my Friends. Looking at you video, sounds like this experience is worth to have. I could see, you started at 3 AM and did hike for around 3-4 hours (1.5 +1 + 1). Do you recommend someone if he/she is not Hiking and Trekking lover ? How about IJEN, East Java, Indonesia. Did you go there as well ? - Nitin Jain from Bangalore, India
Yes it is a great experience, and you can just walk the trek slow. It’s very worth it even if you don’t like hiking. It’s about the view. I did Ijen too, see the videos on my channel
Literally my dream to experience this. How long does it take to hike to the top? and how much did it cost total? was there any entrance fee or its just an open trek that you have to follow?
hey, im heading to bromo this weekend. May i know, did you hike up MT Penjankan to view the sunrise? and how long did it take for you guys to cross the sea of sands to get to bromo. Im also going without the tour. thanks
Yes, it is possible. Choose the right path to Senaru point. If you choose the left one there will be entrance gate you have to buy the ticket. If you want to go down to the sea sand and hike the mt bromo there are several ways going down used by local with their horses.
Greaaaat video! Thanks so much for sharing. I need to prepare myself before going there in 2 weeks time! So excited! But can u share how did u avoid the entrance fees? I hear that the fees is super expensive for tourist! We’re not going under travel agent tho.
Just ask when you’re there, and the people who live there know how to get around the fees. It’s really hard to explain from here, but easy when you get there
Yeahh...man...u might not that lucky any other time 😨 Please...please...be careful and put your safety first Your family and friends...are waiting you coming home
The town you stay/start is actually called Cemero not Probolingo, watch this video it talks about both towns and which one is easier to get to or do the Bromo walk: th-cam.com/video/Aj4b1HDLH5w/w-d-xo.html
Great video man! Mt. Bromo looks incredible. You capture it really well. Subbed to your channel and I'm looking forward to your future work. Would really appreciate you checking out my channel as well!
ahem... nice views but instead of silly jokes could you give some actual info, like pics of maps, which is the best entry point for the hike, how long the busride, maybe even google-map locations etc...?
I agree. This video was a more of a vlog, one part of a continuing story of travels in Southeast Asia. But I did want to make a more informative video to accompany it.
You are awesome Alexander, you keep impressing me in every video you make. Some of these footage are unreal, but you know what makes this journey even more interesting, a drone my friend.
Almost every day now, I dream of drones. My first purchase when I visit home
THX for this awesome footage! I've been to Mt. Bromo about 20 years ago and I'm looking forward to feel the same experiences and the overwhelming emotions you felt - again in May 2018.

Nørgaard Film I recommend you to join 'open trip bromo start Surabaya' it cost 350.000 rupiah. 1 US dollars = 13.500 rupiah.

Naresh Sakti did you go. I'm going next week and need info thanks
Glen Gordon yeah I did, dm me in Instagram and I will give you the details, also some contact info for guide with good rates. Ig: @naresh_sakti
So you’ll have to be there early for sunrise and stay there till sunset or what?
For sunrise you hike up the mountain nearby for a view of the volcanos. Then you hike back down and later, actually go hike on Mt Bromo for sunset
Great footage...! 😁😁😁 keep the moments
Anybody wants to climb up Bromo peak next month. We are about to 🎊
Jealous, it’s going to be amazing
