ABOUT BRING THE FUNNY
NBC's proud comedy legacy, which has opened doors for countless comedians, is ready to "Bring the Funny" with a new competition series for the next generation of comedy lovers. The series will feature the world's best comedic acts and, for the first time on television, embrace every style of comedy performance in one competition.
The 10-episode series will bring together some of the most prolific comedians in the industry to serve as judges - "Saturday Night Live"'s longest-running cast member, Kenan Thompson, cultural tastemaker Chrissy Teigen and comedy icon Jeff Foxworthy. Comedian Amanda Seales will serve as host for the competition.
In partnership with the international organization Just for Laughs, which has given rise to some of today's most successful comedic acts via its iconic festivals, tours and television series, "Bring the Funny" will feature the best of the best stand-ups, sketch troupes and comedic variety acts. From solo comics to sketch troupes to musicians, magicians, podcasters, puppeteers, TH-camrs and more - anyone who can make audiences laugh will have the chance to receive the career-changing $250,000 prize package and see their name in lights in the "Bring the Funny" showcase.
David Friedman and Matilda Zoltowski will executive produce. Just for Laughs President Bruce Hills serves as consulting producer. The series will be produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio.

JK Studios comedy does not come across in this format. They had a TV show and left it. I really feel like they regret that decision and are trying to get attention again.

Wow, I've never seen a group have so little edge as Harry and Chris. They set up the jokes decently but the punchlines were somewhere around 25% of their potential.

I love Lewberger, but for everyone who didn’t see them until you saw them here, watch the original video. They wrote out a joke or two (I presume because they were about Mulan and Pocahontas and they didn’t want to risk it) which is fine but it explained a couple awkwardly worded verses

I think it works in a TH-cam video but on stage it is kinda... cringey (the obvious: I think declares that it is mine opinion)
I agree, they had to cut so many of the best lines, and they rearranged some of them...I think that threw them off and affected their performance a bit, honestly. They had to make the song a lot shorter, and ended on the kiss instead of repeating the first line. The performance they did for their album release livestream was much, much better.
Lewberger was funnier and had better voices, but Harry and Chris hit me in the feels and had more personalized content. I'm so torn 😧
Harry and Chris are sweet but the show is bring the funny and it was comically a step backwards for them from the first show. They're singing about British english being different from American english and completely missed that we don't use "mates" the same way. It felt more like an encore than an act, where they were thanking the audience an talking about how happy they are to be there. That just feels like filler.
