  • After the Fukushima disaster in 2011, nuclear contamination occurred at the Fukushima power plant in Japan. The nuclear radiation is too intense for humans. It would quickly lead to death. Where humans can't get ahead, people use robots. However, the radioactive contamination at the Fukushima power plant after the disaster is so great that even the robots are having problems. We present some of the robots that are helping to clean up Fukushima. What do you think about the Fukushima disaster in 2011? Tell us in the comments....

I love how the opening picture is a picture of Harry Daghlian's hand (physicist whom worked on The Manhattan Project, trying to figure out how the plutonium core could become supercritical) ((ironic since this was directed towards Japan, and you're speaking about what happened in Japan)) which was not subject to a "high dose of radiation for too long". That happened days after following a mere second of touching the cap for the plutonium core, aka the demon core. There was nothing "too long" about that situation. At some point, there's a line where even a mere second is lethal.

After 2011-03-11 Japanese Earthquake, Gods who created and manage this Universe (aliens) urgently removed some nuclear leaks, otherwise the nuclear leaks will sink into ocean and earth core and cause explosion and may destroy Earth. But the Japanese nuclear facilities are still leaking, they used too little cement, lead and shield materials and too short, cannot cover the entire nuclear waste. So in 2021-02-13 and 2022-03-16, Gods who created and manage this Universe (aliens) came multiple times to clean up the nuclear leaks from ocean. Japanese need to put more materials and containing the nuclear waste properly to avoid more nuclear leak caused earthquakes.

Alot of ignorant people in this comment section.
This whole disaster was completely preventable, the fault is entirely on the business men. They refused to listen to Engineer recommendations to build the backup power in a safe area like they did for the control room because it would cost too much money. In the end it ended up causing the disaster when an incident finally happened and the backup power got flooded.
They actually handled it pretty well all things considered, and didn't just cover it up with concrete and try to hide it before the rest of the world noticed like with Chernobyl.
If you're interested in the details, I recommend Plainly Difficults video on the matter, he can explain it much better than I can.
For all the people that say this only happened because of the Japanese and them just wanting to build a atomic bomb, shame on you. WW2 is history and Japan is a extremely advanced nation now. They weren't building bombs they were providing power as Nuclear is one of the safest options we have at the moment until green energy is perfected.
Learn the facts, and when you do, the advancements of these awesome robots will be much more interesting to follow, and the mission to clean up the environment.
This incident should serve as a reminder to all that an engineer's advice should be listened to even if it means less profit. Same as with the Ill fated NASA missions that took astronaut's lives.
When greed takes over, people and the environment get hurt.

Little late to this, but they should be focused in investing more into micro-algae/seeweed based water treatment (as they contain high levels of naturally occurring iodine,) before ever knowingly letting out more radioactive water into the damn ocean. We use iodine sourced from seeweed. This is bad news.

I still don't get why they aren't investing more money in micro-algae treatment. Seaweed contains natural iodine, but we can't just depend on our marine algae, phytoplankton, after it's dumped!!! (Even tho everyone knows they have been leaking a ton into the water table & ocean the whole time.)
    This just makes me sick.
This is why I'm personally considering getting into hydrogen/geothermal/fusion based energy.

They could not use wireless to transmit data. So every drone was wired. Driving a robot through a debris field and getting caught on everything proves to be a problem. Also add in the depth of the concrete walls for signal transmission. Also they went through several variations due to not knowing the contamination levels and what each robot could withstand. It was completely trial and error and if in error, you could only hope to recover a miniscule amount of data to overcome it in the next try.
He didn't go into depth, but the information is out there.

    • @howardbaxter2514
      @howardbaxter2514 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Dirge_For_November it’s definitely a massive engineering challenge. I wonder if there is a way to have a kind of docking station inside the reactor such that the radiation isn’t strong enough to disrupt transmission. From that docking station, using some level of AI, the robot goes out, does the readings it needs to get done, and then goes back to the docking station to transmit the data back. Would be very difficult to set up though.

The Unit 4 was not running so the core meltdown is obviously not a problem with that one. All the fuel rods from Unit 4 were successfully removed in December 2014 so there the only radioactivity remaining is same as any decommissioned nuclear power plant.

Make the point they are not even talking about the core. Decomission means leaving it as it is , probably will take out spend fuel which is not hard after 20 years or so. World must go toward 100% cleanup every last bit of core and cement. Thisis what will happen with chernobyl. That new dome has cranes plasma cutters everything you need as nobody will enter it after they start. Point is the core reactor is live for billion of years it may slow down, but every year it may go deeper, if it reaches water it may become nuke which wipes all world. Chernobyl was not far from it, they pumped water out.
