I've found another way to achieve my goals but I'll never turn my back on people out there who give up their days and nights, trying to offer the best content they can to anonymous internauts. @@maverick2909 I use DaVinci Resolve and I cannot stress how good the software is. I’ve actually ended up purchasing the studio version but the base version is free AND there isn’t a catch, the fact it’s free feels wrong. What software are you using?

DCS looks so good that one of the best techniques to make captured video look like real world footage is to apply post processing to actually make it look worse (color saturation, film grain, etc.). Well done!

What you do is absolutely completely amazing; every time I watch one of your movies, my heart gets seized, and I find myself watching them repeatedly. I'm a film major in college, and sometimes I can't help but cry at how effectively you edit and present a story. Every time I watch one of your videos, I'm inspired to try something new. I know it will take time, but I'll be content with the effort I put into it. You are really inspiring, and I am so grateful to you. I watch this video multiple times a week, for real. Whether it be analyzing it for ideas or just plain enjoyment, you have a gift, and that gift is dedication and patience.

How do you get the in cockpit shot on the helmet like that without it being low-res? My graphics are on full so that is not the issue, but the camera appeared to be attached to the pilot’s helmet and with the correct MFD displays showing. Every time I switch to the f4 camera (not the plane, the button) it gives me a low resolution cockpit with the wrong displays on the MFDs and the camera won’t “stick” to the pilot’s helmet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hey! I used a bit of camera trickery. The cockpit was shot in the F1 view and the helmet was added in post. - I recorded the cockpit from F1 with my head slightly high and left. I then took a screenshot from the F4 view of the pilots helmet. - Removed the background of the helmet image in the editor, added a slight flicker and fade to it so the lighting would change as the head moved, and added that as a layer on top of the F1 clip. Hope that explains things and I'd love to explain any other scenes if you had any in mind! S!
Good Lord!! You are extremely talented with your visual storytelling. I loved it!!! If you don't mind my asking, how do you obtain your track (replay) files for recording? Single-player or Multi-player? A dedicated server track? Or, are you recording as you fly in real-time?
Of course I don’t mind - and thanks a ton for the compliments! So the F-18 scenes are nearly all single player replays, most flown by me with some occasional AI flown external shots. However the F-14 tracks are completely bugged and can’t be replayed so they are either AI or flown real-time. This video actually has a couple multiplayer scenes (for some very specific shots) but I tend to stay clear as much as possible. Hope that answers your question and please respond if you have any other queries!
Hey! I only use Da Vinci Resolve. I could not recommend it enough. Its free and its hands down better than any other payed-for editor (My own bias but its that good). Hope this helps!
