Pepper Lesya is our sweet pepper of Ukrainian selection. For the first time it was brought by the Belous family from the village of Prisluch, which is located in the Khmelnytsky region. Many of us have come to love this pepper for its thick wall and delicious sweet, juicy taste! Lesya is a popular female given name in Ukraine. The breeder, perhaps in honor of some woman, decided to give the pepper a female name ...)

I think I’ve grown Corbachi over a decade ago.Gave some to a friend.our results were comperable - WAY too many seeds and very thin flesh. Neither of us waited for it to ripen to red. Never grew it again.
Pretty sure that was the one. It was a nice pepper, if only the flesh were thicker and the seeds were fewer.
Anyone else have a similar experience? If not, maybe I’m not remembering correctly. It was over a decade ago.

My favorite is the Chocolate Beauty. It has zero pepper taste/aftertaste. It doesn't even really taste like a pepper. Almost chocolate cherry. Have you tried that variety yet/before? I'm not really fond of peppers, so to get one that doesn't taste like a pepper was amazing.

Hello sir. Can you make a video about which of the sweet peppers were the easiest to grow, needed the least amount of space or what you make with them? I started a garden this year where i am stationed in Oklahoma and the only things that grew well were my peppers. So I want to lean into them next year

    • @TurfTherapy

I've really been enjoying gypsy peppers. Not necessarily super sweet, but still quite sweet for a light green colored pepper, and very early and productive, and very juicy/crunchy, without the bitterness of a dark green bell pepper.
On a sweetness ranking, I'd say from the varieties I've grown this year
    Sweetest
    Jimmy Nardello
    Holy Italian
    Hatvani Eros
    Chocolate Cake
    Gypsy
    Sweet Banana
    Shepherd
    Orange You Sweet
    Least Sweet
Orange You Sweet was a bit of a disappointment. Although it's early and productive, the taste is basically like a red bell pepper (ie kinda bland).
Eros is Hungarian for strong/spicy, but so far, they are very mild, I can only barely detect the slightest bit of heavy if I chew on the seeds, and I don't have a particularly high heat tolerance. Not that that part of the world lacks any hot peppers, because I'm also growing a Transylvanian pepper called Targu Mures and it's almost as hot as a habanero.
I've also been growing Aji Fantasy White and Roulette, which are hard to compare because it's such a different taste profile, but I really love those too. They have more of a fruity/floral fragrance than the anuum peppers.
I've got others that I'm waiting to ripen still also - Corbaci, Aji Santa Cruz, Urfa Bider, Aji Sweet Rollo Yellow, Biquinho, Early CalWonder, St Croix and Datil Sweet.
Hot peppers I've been growing are Time Bomb (a cherry variety), Jalapeno, Espelette, Targu Mures, Rocoto, Habanero and Tabasco

You said shishito has a bit of heat to its sweetness. How would you rate that quality in the corbochi?
You said the candycane is about 50% sweeter than orange bell, yet the LEAST sweet of the four tested here. Knowing what I know about the flavor of orange bells, that confuses Me a'lil, but I guess the best way to resolve that is to grow some. It probably also doesn't help that I haveNOT tasted these to be ABLE TO use the orange bell's sweetness in comparison. 😏

    • @TurfTherapy
      @TurfTherapy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Sorry to confuse you. I was going off of what I preferred while trying to give common examples. I didn't rank the my favorite because of the sweetness rather than the complexity of the pepper itself.
