BEST PLACES TO VISIT in Thailand 🇹🇭

Known as the land of smiles, Thailand is a mixture of beautiful temples, incredible food and charming chaos. Over 22 million people visit Thailand each year. Wonder what all the hype is about? Here are some of the amazing things I saw on my trip to Thailand.
In October 2019, my business partner Norma and I took a trip to Thailand. We were doing research for an April 2020 group trip for our business, The WonderList Tour Company. A trip, that was unfortunately cancelled. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my 48th birthday than eating Thai food and exploring this fascinating country.
We started our trip in Bangkok. We arranged a driver through the hotel who took us to a floating market and two temples. After spending a few days in Bangkok we took an over night train north to Chiang Mai. I’d done a lot of research on this train and learned that the third party sellers in Bangkok usually buy up all of the first class tickets. On the train website you could only buy tickets within 90 days of the trip. I set an alarm for 12a on the 90th day to ensure that we were able to get these tickets! Our train left around 7p and we arrived in Chiang Mai around 6a. We called a Grab (aka Asian Uber) which took us to our hotel. We arrived to early to check in, but we were able to hang out in the lobby and have breakfast at the buffet.
We stayed at BED Hotel. Which I can honestly say was a dream. The room was spacious, the staff was great and it was a very comfortable stay. The only issue with the location that we chose is it was outside of the old city, but it was still only a few minutes Grab ride away from the center of the action.
On our final day we arranged for a tour guide to drive us the 3 or so hours to Chiang Rai. Here, we visited so many temples that I lost count. Most notably, Wat Rong Khun also known as the White Temple. Wat Rong Suea Ten the Blue Temple and Wat Huay Pla Kang with the impressive statue of Guan Yin the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion.
Thailand is the perfect combination of great weather, friendly locals, amazing food and incredible history and culture. Thankfully, we’ve rescheduled our trip for Spring 2024 and I for one can’t wait to go back!
