@@anasbtr They weren't stupid, in defense he branded himself ... Football was slower for various reasons, one of which was that the goalkeeper could receive the pass from his partner and catch it with his hands and consequently the vertical passes were made few because if the opposing defender took it he gave it immediately to the goalkeeper .. The ball was much heavier and the clothing was spartan especially the shoes were traps for the feet .. Today and everything more "scientific" the skin of the shoes and made in such a way as to adhere as best as possible to that of the ball etc .. Obviously the football evolved, but those players played in any conditions, with disastrous playing fields that today would not even be regulation ...

The best era of Liverpool football club without a doubt. They'd ruin today's team all day long with passing and hard tackling they would make Mo cry some more. Don't doubt me teens as I was around in the early 80s to know how magnificent this team was, from a ManU fan 😬
No they wouldn't. Sports science has come a long way in 40 years.
Certainly the best era of the club but even bang average teams today would batter this Liverpool side. From nutrition, tactics, surgery, sports psychology etc The game has developed too much for teams from even 15 years ago to really keep up with the top teams today.
@@notaskrull8304 Kicking a ball is primarily a simple thing, keep your sports science out of it with your excuses, otherwise why didn't Liverpool win the European Cup after the bans till 2005? Are you suggesting that gusty team had poor sports science? You obviously don't know how good Kennedy, Dalglish, Hansen, McDermott and Case were on and off the ball. Souness would have snapped Salah in half, no sports science needed, just men beating boys without a modern ref protecting snowflakes.

@@mrjones29 The great Brazil teams of the 60s and 70s would be annihilated today. It's only your bias that prevents you from seeing that. Ask anyone who actually works in football and they'll tell you that even teams we consider poor today like Norwich would be like gods 40+ years ago.
This is just the nature of the modern game and sports (and arguably human society) in general.
That doesn't take away from the achievements of these great teams. You play who's in front of you so in that sense the 1958-70 Brazilian sides or the 70s/80s Liverpool team are much greater than many teams today but in a pure footballing sense, football has progressed massively in recent years.

@@MemphisGoar It's about the experience for me, not so much whether we win or lose. Sure, winning is great and all but I would never want to become a Man City who wins regardless of whether they play good or bad or even worse a Bayern Munich or PSG who simply cannot lose their leagues. I much prefer the thrill of challenging year after year knowing full well it isn't already written that you will win. It offers moments like the game against Barcelona where we came back and any true fan would tell you that regardless of whether we went on to win the cup or not that second leg would have been worth the entire season all on its own.
That said, I do understand that not everyone is like me. Some just want to win and care not for the emotions simply playing the game may carry. Others just like a certain player in the team and thus support it whilst others still only support it because their family supports it and the list of reasons go on and on. Me? I simply enjoy the football we play and how we somehow manage to beat all the odds and challenge the biggest of teams (sometimes even demolishing them) from time to time. Would I want to win? Definitely, but that win doesn't mean the same to you as if you were to experience it. Just think back to the Premier League title we won recently. We won it and were all happy but it would have meant so much more to be there with the team, celebrating, jumping up and down and waving our red banners while screaming from the top of our lungs that YNWA. Just my opinion.
