I’ve heard from many Asian women from China to overseas born Asians talking down on Asian men. It’s sad, really. Why would you look down on a race that is the same as your relatives or children?!, do you consider your father unworthy, or your own race a second class citizen?! What is wrong with you!??!

I think this was an interesting study. One thing that I wondered about was the sample size. According to the article, the sample was 200 Asian American women aged 18+. They stated as one of their limitations that "it is possible that our recruitment methods may have affected the findings, such that one recruitment method we used was to email listeservs of organizations centering Asian American women. Perhaps Asian American women who are engaged in organizations related to their racial eand gender identities may be in similar racial justice organizing spaces with Asian men...and perhaps view them as more datable or attractive." In addition, they state that they recruited from a university that has a large Asian student population, which might have skewed the results. In addition, I've often heard that attraction is based on familiarity. I'm wondering if individuals who grow up in white neighborhoods are more attracted to white men, while those that grow up in Asian, Black, Latino neighborhoods are more attracted to those races. I would love to see this study done again, but with a much larger sample size (2,000-5,000 participants).

Just in dating apps alone Asian women (in US) usually had to swipe 4-5 times to find Asian/Black/Hispanic man before all the Caucasian ones, if the filters were off. All my family members, except for two who married outside their race, are happily married and successful. One of the two is divorced, and the other has become isolated and changed for the worse, no longer attending family gatherings. Culture and family is everything to us.
But it’s mainly Japanese, Korean and Chinese women who go outside their race followed by Filipinos. Other SE Asian and South Asians mostly stay within their own. I noticed too that East Asian men who are very successful tend to marry white Americans. But all jokes aside, you gotta also remember that this survey was done on a university campus and most of the men on any given university campus are probably gonna be either White or Asian. Just saying, I have seen the statistics of racial breakdown of colleges. So, honestly, Asian women on college campuses don't have that many options to date Black or Latino. You gotta take that into perspective. Also, outside of college, you gotta look at professions and who Asian women interact with the most: probably White and Asian men, because we go into the same fields (tech, medicine, engineering, IT, etc.). There just aren't as many Black or Latino computer programmers compared to Asian and White.

I kinda don’t believe what the study says because if you come to Dallas, Texas, which has a large latino american population and solid asian american communities, you rarely see latino men and asian american women couple pairings. I’ve only seen this a handful of times while growing up here my entire life when I’m in my late twenties. HOWEVER, I’ve still went on a lot of dates with attractive asian american women, along with other kinds of women including mexican american women. It comes down to compatibility, chemistry, attraction, and openness. I’ve also had asian american women come on to me for dates when we had mutual friends. But there are certainly people in Texas who are still prejudice, but that doesn’t keep me from going on quality dates. And it also depends on the size of a city too. When I was in Los Angeles, I went on a lot of dates quickly with asian american women and other american women since there were more singles who want to go on casual dates.
This 1000%. I'm in southwest AZ, and although the Asian population is growing, it's still 2% Asian out of 6 million (predominantly) white/Caucasian. The WMAW pairing might be slightly higher than AMAW pairing at the moment, so I can see how it's harder out here for me to find matches with AW. When I was in SoCal area in LA/OC I get several matches daily, had zero issue dating and I'm medium ugly!

The study is flawed since they compare statistics with age group much older than within gen z. The older generation still have influence from western life and hollywood. New gen consume more kpop and east asian culture But it's not only asian women. Kind of everyone get influenced from east asia. From my experience, the girls that approach me the most to ask me out directly are white girls. Some were arab (2), 1 girl was direct "hey I find you cute, what you think about me?", the other one was indirect but it was so obvious that everyone knew. White girls are very direct "hey, I find you cute, would you go on date saturday/sunday?"

Sure, but you don't see this with other races of women or with Asian men. It's exclusive to East & Southeast Asian women. Keep in mind, this is only accounting for marriages. The numbers are even higher if you include the Asian women that date and cohabit with men outside their race or have a history of doing so. White, Black, South Asian, Arab women, etc. don't have this problem. You rarely see them with men outside of their race compared to East/Southeast Asian women.

I know fungbros like to say Chinese things aren't cool, but if you look up Cdramas these days like Princess Agent or Hidden Love those titles have millions of views and the comments are mostly in English. When I was in high school and I looked up some TVB shit back in the 2010's the comments were mostly in Chinese mixed in with some ABC comments and it would have like 100k views. We've come a long way, just compare the views for the same cdrama with english subtitles and ones without and you can come to the conclusion that this isn't just Chinese people watching this stuff.

I have lived in TX (the state prob tied with CA with most latinos) and been to all the popular "Lu" cities and traveled to multiple Asian countries: I have never seen an Asian woman date a Latino dude, literally ever. Im sure they exist, especially in Latin America, but in America, it is an extremely rare pairing. The journey into dating was interesting she didn't have interest in white men basically because she had faced discrimination even though she's rich. I’m older guy and alway dated white girl and really pretty ones. Ppl. used to get surprised by this bc most of the time it was the Asian women with the white guy and pretty unusual when it was the Asian guy with the white girl. But part of why I did this was most of the Asian girls weren’t interested in me. The American born were set to only go out with white men and the Asian born girl only dated Asian men So I was in this weird situation being Asian American. And since Asian women were dating white men and still happens, I figure I do the same. It wasn’t trying to be self hating x so there are still variations. I’m also the one that used to break barriers for Asian and in the 80’s go to only white, black and Latin clubs. I used to be the only Asians in clubs in the 80’s and 90’s. So it’s up to the newer generation of Asian to keep pushing the boundaries. If you grew up in the USA , why couldn’t you date any other race or even your own. Also the Asian nerd thang didn’t help the Asian male image. I came out unusual bc I grew up in the hood since the 70’s and 80’s. Glad the Asian women cooling off on the chasing white men. I still see many Asian girls dating white guys and Hispanic men all over Southern California and in college campuses. I also work with many Asian women that are nurses all over Southern California and most of them don't date Asian men. Filipino & Vietnamese women are the main ones that date outside of their race.

I think this was an interesting study. One thing that I wondered about was the sample size. According to the article, the sample was 200 Asian American women aged 18+.

But all jokes aside, you gotta also remember that this survey was done on a university campus and most of the men on any given university campus are probably gonna be either White or Asian. Just saying, I have seen the statistics of racial breakdown of colleges. So, honestly, Asian women on college campuses don't have that many options to date Black or Latino. You gotta take that into perspective. Also, outside of college, you gotta look at professions and who Asian women interact with the most: probably White and Asian men, because we go into the same fields (tech, medicine, engineering, IT, etc.). There just aren't as many Black or Latino computer programmers compared to Asian and White.
In all honesty, there are more blacks and Latinos in university than before so in this generation, we see a bit of everything now. Latinos are graduating from colleges and universities more than before. Statistically saying here.
I kinda don’t believe what the study says because if you come to Dallas, Texas, which has a large latino american population and solid asian american communities, you rarely see latino men and asian american women couple pairings. I’ve only seen this a handful of times while growing up here my entire life when I’m in my late twenties. HOWEVER, I’ve still went on a lot of dates with attractive asian american women, along with other kinds of women including mexican american women. It comes down to compatibility, chemistry, attraction, and openness. I’ve also had asian american women come on to me for dates when we had mutual friends. But there are certainly people in Texas who are still prejudice, but that doesn’t keep me from going on quality dates. And it also depends on the size of a city too. When I was in Los Angeles, I went on a lot of dates quickly with asian american women and other american women since there were more singles who want to go on casual dates.
This 1000%. I'm in southwest AZ, and although the Asian population is growing, it's still 2% Asian out of 6 million (predominantly) white/Caucasian. The WMAW pairing might be slightly higher than AMAW pairing at the moment, so I can see how it's harder out here for me to find matches with AW. When I was in SoCal area in LA/OC I get several matches daily, had zero issue dating and I'm medium ugly!

Sure, but you don't see this with other races of women or with Asian men. It's exclusive to East & Southeast Asian women. Keep in mind, this is only accounting for marriages. The numbers are even higher if you include the Asian women that date and cohabit with men outside their race or have a history of doing so. White, Black, South Asian, Arab women, etc. don't have this problem. You rarely see them with men outside of their race compared to East/Southeast Asian women.

Asian guy normally #1 in finance. I’m certain we ranked 1 in financial stability. Hell we rank number one in raw intelligence which is undeniable. Whatever the criteria was, I wonder if it measured for competency and finance stability.
I have lived in TX (the state prob tied with CA with most latinos) and been to all the popular "Lu" cities and traveled to multiple Asian countries: I have never seen an Asian woman date a Latino dude, literally ever.
Im sure they exist, especially in Latin America, but in America, it is an extremely rare pairing. Genuinely surprised they could get no. 1 unless its some weird thing where a bunch of woke chicks felt guilty because thats the only race they haven't dated or something.

We exist, I'm married to an Asian woman. While growing up I would see Latin American and Asian couples, most of the time they were either with Filipino or Vietnamese.

Interesting presentation my personal experience from dating a Chinese supposedly left over millionaire that until me had never dated outside the Chinese culture. The journey into dating was interesting she didn't have interest in white men basically because she had faced discrimination even though she's rich. Her mistake was thinking it mattered to lessor white men who didn't nor could handle her pulling up in a Bentley. You mentioned class I believe that does factor into this.
I’m a pretty conservative Asian American woman politically and culturally. I love country music, I appreciate cowboy culture (horses, self-sufficiency, guns, etc), and I voted for Donald Trump but hey guess what?? I’m only attracted to Asian guys and have only ever dated Asian guys!!

I dont think anything has changed except that gen Z are more "woke" overall. The fact that most AF still ranked AM second, it seems like AM's position did not change on a absolute basis, but rather improved relatively, to WM. I view it as a small portion of white washed AF turned "woke" and switch to pursuing black/latino. AM being ranked second overall is still abnormal.
It sounds like a study of people saying the right things that are politically correct in the current climate. However I do believe the shaming of WM & AF couples has been effective.

I’m older guy and alway dated white girl and really pretty ones. Ppl. used to get surprised by this bc most of the time it was the Asian women with the white guy and pretty unusual when it was the Asian guy with the white girl. But part of why I did this was most of the Asian girls weren’t interested in me. The American born were set to only go out with white men and the Asian born girl only dated Asian men
So I was in this weird situation being Asian American. And since Asian women were dating white men and still happens, I figure I do the same. It wasn’t trying to be self hating x so there are still variations. I’m also the one that used to break barriers for Asian and in the 80’s go to only white, black and Latin clubs. I used to be the only Asians in clubs in the 80’s and 90’s. So it’s up to the newer generation of Asian to keep pushing the boundaries. If you grew up in the USA , why couldn’t you date any other race or even your own.
Also the Asian nerd thang didn’t help the Asian male image. I came out unusual bc I grew up in the hood since the 70’s and 80’s. Glad the Asian women cooling off on the chasing white men. I think is an individual thing and I still find many young folks still go for the wrong ppl.

I still see many Asian girls dating white guys and Hispanic men all over Southern California and in college campuses. I also work with many Asian women that are nurses all over Southern California and most of them don't date Asian men. Filipino & Vietnamese women are the main ones that date outside of their race.

As it applies to internalized racism, Whites, especially men have been on the receiving side of this for at least the past few decades. I’m on the east coast and I see a growing number of Asian men with Black women. But I am seeing more Asian women with Black and Latino men. Even larger numbers of unmarried Asian women with Black/brown children.

spent 30 dollars on 3 shots and 10 dollar cover charges which equated to mostly a sausage fest most of the night guy just standing around waiting for the girl to show up. Really awkward vibe for the first couple of hours, girls finally showed about midnight for about an hour, for that one hour things were fun then right back to sausage fest, just disappointing and expensive, can't relax and have fun with a bunch dudes basically standing around bored as hell just like you.
