Love Lanfear in the show. She's such a complex villain and you can totally see that she's in love with Rand which makes for an interesting dynamic. I hope she sticks around for a while

No worries there. There's even been rumors that she's manipulated both the forces of dark and light so well that no one truly knows what happened to her in the last battle.

She and Moraine were the best part of season 2! Her acting is outstanding!! How her eyes are spilling the emotions is impeccable!
The best part of the show over the books is giving the forsaken real motivation, they are not just bad for the sake of being bad. You can almost see why they are doing what they do and I love that. Excellent video! I love Lanfear.
It’s less that their motivation has changed, and more that it’s better conveyed (In addition to the Forsaken being generally more competent than their book counterparts). Plus they also extended Ishamael’s philosophy to other non-Forsaken Darkfriends who were a lot more prone in the books to have turned to the Dark just for the sake of being evilz
Like we don’t learn Ishamael’s actual motivation in the books till the latter half of the series, what with him spending most of the first half absent or completely out of his mind and convinced he’s someone else
She's the epitome of the squidward "Omg he's hot" meme. She's exactly how she was in the books. It's just people underestimated how good it looked until they saw it in live action xD Like, she was known for being super seductive and manipulative. She's power hungry, evil, and obsessed with Rand. But in the books you could just read the words of what she did and not see WHO is doing it. Live action shows just how captivating she was and how she got away with so much.
I have my issues with how the show has done things. But they have really sold me on this Lanfear. I am on her side more than any other character haha.
When I read I see what is happening through imaging it. I still like live actions when done well and I plan to see wheel of time live action once I finish the series but I don't need to physically see it to really capture the essence and bueaty of a character.
I was just curious how the show interpreted it after I read through her storyline in the books. I imagined her a lot younger more in her early to mid 20s but that doesn't matter to me just a different interpretation. This actress seems like she did a good job becoming Lanfear.
It’s weird how scenes that are totally toxic in the show can be re-edited to new music and seem romantic and sweet and sad. I’m very impressed. Well done. ❤

@@coreyleander7911 I’m not questioning her feelings, they are together for one person to pretend they’re with someone else and for the other to try and forget someone else. They are using each other. That’s not healthy. Then there’s the time she threatens him if he dares leave her. The dynamic is extremely toxic.
Yeah, it is a bit toxic, she's got a lot of demons... hell she IS one... and he's avoiding his... but sometimes those kinds of relationships romantic or not can give people a chance to better themselves and heal. If they're willing to brave it.

@theselemene5294 she is on rands side but not Necessarily the light. Lanfear has always loved the dragon and turned to the dark to try get him back. As Ishmael said "there's many paths to walk the (night or shadow)".

I love that her entire arc has been keeping an eye on her man but with slaying.
They did an outstanding Job with Lanfear. She is way more complex and if they want a redemption arc that is also possible.
At this point i think they should just run with more original ideas than follow the books completely.

Elayne, really? To be fair, I'm on book 7 only, but l feel like they have the least chemistry/development (and I've seen threads where full series readers still feel this way). They had a veeery brief meeting (probably under 2-3 hours) in book 1 and Elayne couldn't get him out of her head for ages, and then it took until book 4 for them to meet again (and only for a couple of days).
@@honorisalive it's my theory but I think Elayne is Ilyena reborn. They have striking resemblance to each other according to... Well you know (avoiding spoilers) and lanfear. I like his chemistry with Elayne best. Also because she's my third favourite character after Nynaeve and Lanfear. 😁

FALSE!! If you are referring to the TV version, I can't speak to that, because I can't stand the TV show. Not only does it butcher the source material, but even if you just watch the show, it's BAD TV. Anyways, I disagree about Lanfear being the most complex and powerful female character. IMHO, Moraine is FAR FAR more complex as I'd Nymaeve. Nymaeve is not only complex, but powerful as well.

I have issues with the liberties the show runners took with all the girl bosses to change them from the author's original plot to take all Rand's shine except Lanfear. I am all in on the Lanfear train. Lanfear is much more interesting thus far then Egwyane or Moraine... I think the show does great at making the villains' motivations more palatable and the way her drive for the Dragon plays out on the wheel of time despite her oathes to the shadow has been super enjoyable thus far. I hope they continue threading this dichotomy well with her character

The actress first role was Lady Macbeth - it must have been quite the show. Lanfear is Lady Macbeth with her own power in mind 😅
I loved her as antagonist, In fact she is a lot more interesting than Ishamael wich he is only seen as bad just because he wants to stop the wheel just like the dark one. But Lanfear has changes in her loyalty as well she has her own objectives, and dynamic alliances, at some point she even seems to be on the side of Monraine, and seems like even the dark is not fully joined since they have their own beef between them.
There's more to Ishamael's backstory that has not been revealed.

Outside of Rand and Mat, the women, both good and especially the villains carry this series. I just hope they don’t mess up Tuon cuz she’s fucking awesome.

Lanfear is a twisted antihero and so is Ishamel. Our Beloved Lewis Therrin/Rand whatever he is, is the true culprit here. Only Mature minds can comprehend, there wwere several other alternatives. Who made his friends go mad, deeds of lewis the dragon!

The strings Lanfear pulled in the season finale episode was a master class. If it wasn’t for her, the dragons won’t be where they are now

So, does Lanfear really love him?
Well, it's complicated, she loved his past incarnation for centuries and recognizes shadows of that man in Rand. But the Dragon Reborn is also prophesized to not only be the reincarnation of the Dragon but to actually be the same person, which has her dreaming of another chance with Lews Therin.
So while she really loves some aspects of Rand, she also has this lingering hope that the man she truly fell in love with all that time ago will return to her.
I don't understand, Moiraine says that Lanfear is the most powerful Forsaken right after Ishmael, but in the end Lanfear is scared of that girl.
Guess she was wrong. Obviously Moiraine wouldn’t know everything about them, since they had been sealed long before her time. Also she said “most dangerous”, possibly referring to her ability to manipulate the dream world. It makes sense for the stronger ones to be released later, because it would be anticlimactic if Ishamael was actually the strongest now that he’s already been defeated.
She was scared that all of the other forsaken are free now. That will jeopardize her plans and will put Rand and herself in great danger
Well, she walked right into a trap that cut off weaves and held every muscle in her body. Imagine 'the most powerful' bear walking right unto a landmine, with a sadistic child on the controls who knows exactly how to kill said 'immortal' bear, or at least make it suffer. Doesn't matter how deadly and strong the bear is, the toddler can easily destroy the bear in the most painful way possible right there.
@mateussantana1291 , I don’t think there’s any proof of that, though. Moiraine also thought Ishamael was the dark one, so as I said she doesn’t know everything. Lanfear is a very powerful female channeler, but she got embarrassed by Moghedien in S2 ep8. She also called her “insane” earlier in the season, implying that she was untrustworthy and dangerous. She also seemed afraid when Moghedien appeared. She even felt the need to strike first, but Mog stopped her cold. She was also the only forsaken that she didn’t outright insult (like Graendal being a “vain idiot”), but instead seemed afraid of her, even before coming face to face.

we'll see, they've changed so much with this show already I wouldn't be surprised with the way they're going if we get a pseudo-redemption arc for her. I feel like they're setting up for her to sacrifice herself for Rand.

@@jamess.2491 This Brandon Sanderson TH-cam video (th-cam.com/video/nTifdnXH4lg/w-d-xo.html) confirmed that Lanfear is alive and Perrin did not end up killing her. The TV show has a lot of wiggle room to work with for Lanfear at the end. I can imagine them eventually getting back together.

no, mogedhien is not powerful than lanfear. lanfear is level 1, being the most powerful female channelizer. in the show, u can mogedhien weaving a blind for precaution.
Lanfear is my favorite character. I wish the book authors wouldn't have insisted on NOT redeeming her in the end. I think it would be a good lesson to the DO and Ishy on love, which is something they both can't really understand outside of their hatred of the Wheel.

Oh she gets soooo much better. Real name is Mieren Eronaile, and she is the one who created the bore that freed the dark one originally back in the time before time. Called Daughter of the Night because her role as a Forsaken was to invade the dreams of people, especially children, causing them to kill themselves, their parents, their friends and families. Millions died because of her invading Tel'aron'rhiod (the dream world).
