I have a corded andis ultraedge 2 speed clipper and it's been working for me for 2 dogs (a golden doodle and a poodle) for 2 years. I have done all their trims and it can cut through matting with a shorter blade. The blade is replaceable so you can buy a new one when it gets full and that is way cheaper than buying a new trimmer. I also bought some metal guard combs to be able to trim different lengths and it works well.
I go out in the middle of the yard so I really really need a cordless clipper. I've heard amazing things about the corded Andis clippers!! That's awesome that it's working great.
We have the Andis 2 speed but it is corded. We have had it for over 5 years and it works great. It has the metal blades/guides which my husband says makes all the difference. During Covid I used it to cut my husbands hair and have continued since. Ruby is such a good girl. I am sure our Euchre would be running all over the yard with Mark chasing her with the clippers! LOL
Hi there! I have a doodle and a poodle and I really recommend having her completely brushed out before shaving her and making sure her fur is clean. I use the same clippers but I find it harder to go through thick hair on my doodle. I also bathe them before and use a force dryer so their hair is dried all the way to the skin so that they don't get hotspots, I'm thinking of switching to the Wahl Arco cordless or the Andis KM cordless. At home grooming is definitely an investment but it's worth it!
You have to name drop the other one that broke on you. Over $100 is a lot to spend on a tool that only lasted 3 months. Also, great job desensitizing her to trimmings!
It's so hard because I loved it so so much. 😊 This one was junk for a doodle. I bought a different one that I'll post soon that was less than this one and I'm keeping it! It worked so well.
