8:50 you said: "as far as we know there's only 1 of 2 options to create native apps with web views". What are the other options you're referring too? I've heard of Capacitor (by the Ionic team) and Svelte Native (Native Script under the hood - which isn't a webview). Capacitor seems promising but I need to test it out
I'll start building a mobile app with Svelte in 2025 and I think I'm going with Capacitor. Tauri seems very promising, but I think Capacitor is more stable and has better community support, at least for now. We'll see what happens in the next couple of years
@@enricosaez3345 I'm about to use Capacitor and see if I can't get a simple app into the play store. Svelte 5 + Svelekit are requirements, so trying to implement anything else and coming across weird Rust/ Tauri specific issues that he talks above isn't really feasible for my 1-man team lol
It's just terminologi. They just call it a server, it's the host platform presenting itself as a server to the frontend. It's not a server you connect to.
this paradigm is everywhere you just have one concept of many hard coded in your mind , that is to say you don't understand fully but you think you do.

To be fair, what's the point of running a "server" on a client (ergo creating endpoints), when the server IS the client🤷

🎉
Nice❤
Tauri should heavily work on reducing the build size on desktop first, the thing takes GBs of storage just for hello world.
I think you misspelled ElectronJS.
@@mileselam641 no really i tried it on windows and it was quite big
