Calli wrote the lyrics so yes they wrote it by heart, that's something Calli excels at when it comes to songs, lots of her Originals are written by her. My absolute favorite part of this song is the bridge because it's them speaking and reflecting on themselves personally. Calli: "Defiant 'til the end, I'll stay killing / To sing" Her stubbornness and work ethic are one of her defining qualities. She is never going to stop singing and making music, no matter what people say or what obstacles she comes across, she'll keep pushing forward and making music. Kiara: "I'll dance in burning embers unyielding / Your love's given me wings" This one is straight forward if you are familiar with Kiara's story before Hololive (She was attempting to break through in the underground idol scene, but never got a chance. Hololive was her last chance, and she ran with it.), but she's speaking about how the fans have given her this second chance to keep dancing, a phoenix's rebirth. Ina: "While learning to remember the good times / We bring" This is the only one I'm not 100% on what this means for her personally (maybe something private), it seems she's saying that Hololive has shown her how to focus on the positives in her life rather than the negatives, and move forward. Gura: "Our ocean's finally full of life" This line seems self-explanatory and applies to all of them showing how Hololive has positively impacted thier lives. I also think that it is more so really specific and personal to Gura, as we see in Reflect. Amelia: "Set every vital piece in motion / Now we write" She is the leader and heart of Myth, the one who innovates and pushes the whole group forward from behind the scenes. All the girls agree that without Ame doing the work she does behind the scenes, a lot of the stuff they are able to do would not have happened. This part is so beautiful and it genuinely makes me tear up every time, I love them so much.
For Gura, you have to understand. She was a Twitch and TH-cam streamer with more than 1 million subs BEFORE joining Hololive. She was successful, but not real happy about the way it was going. The same could almost be said about Ame. Hololive gave each of them a platform to reinvent themselves. And, boy, did they reinvent themselves.
It's also very cleverly written to incorporate their Vtuber characteristics (Calli = grim reaper, Kiara = phoenix, Ina = priestess of Lovecraftian gods, Gura = Shark of Atlantis, Amelia = detective/time traveler) AND having personal, emotional messages at the same time.
Yeah, Gura was successful before Hololive, but also suffering from apparent depression. From what I understand she also drank quite a bit before that, and had a very unhealthy lifestyle. Hololive literally helped turn her whole life around. "Our ocean's finally full of life" speaks to me as someone who has had to battle depression most of my life. It shows that she can see the positives now and not just the negatives that depression brings with it. And I 100% agree on Ame. When they couldn't travel to Japan to get their 3D models and do their 3D debuts, Amelia took it upon herself to commission VRChat models for all of them and a custom environment, so they could celebrate their anniversary in 3D inside of VRChat. She has set up her own 3D studio in her home, that the others have used on several occasions. She has constantly been bringing in exciting new ideas and technology. She is definitely the most lateral thinking member of the group.
Calli has been killing it with her songwriting ever since joining hololive. her signature style is playing a lot with inner rhyme schemes, making the rhymes happen in words and syllables in the middle of the lines rather than at the end usually. that pattern has been common with her even before she debuted as Calli. and while she has been very poetic ever since, some of her older works can be very polarizing. thanks for the reaction
Her work as a lyricist has done nothing but thoroughly impress me every time. I love how she uses words. Every choice she makes is so meaningful and creative, I hope she gets all her due credit for it.

Some of it might be obvious, but to explain this group, Hololive is structured in ‘generations’ which are basically a set of vtubers (usually five for JP and EN but only three for ID) who all debut and start activities together. These five, Hololive Myth, are the first generation of Hololive English. The interesting thing with them is that when they debuted no one had very high expectations. A lot of western fans who loved the Japanese girls thought English speaking Hololive members would be cringe and that vtubers in general were a bit too niche to really take off. Myth’s debuts kind of changed everything. All five of them (and especially Gura) immediately exploded in popularity and kind of really helped popularize vtubing in general for a lot of English speaking fans. They’re kind of a golden generation within Hololive. You’re already aware of Calli and Gura’s talents, but the other three are no less special. Kiara in particular has a pretty good number of great songs, my favorite being her cover of 4Blood. She also formally announced literally a couple hours ago her first album, which is going on preorder tomorrow, so likely a lot of music from her is going to be coming out shortly. Ina is far less prolific, but like Gura, on the rare occasion she does put out a song it’s always well loved by her fans. Her cover of Nai Nai is probably my fav from her so far. The cool thing is that for a lot (but not all) of her big music videos, she draws the art herself. As for Ame, singing was not a part of the reason she was hired. She was admittedly not very good starting out, but has improved notably since debut. Her original Chiku Taku is a very cute, fun song and she has some pretty enjoyable covers as well.
I guess this make it official that youve heard all of Myth now, they were the first wave of the EN side of Hololive. All of the members have a few songs/collabs with Calli having the most then Kiara next. While all of it might not be the best songs in existence I think its all objectively good and worth a listen for the experience. One of the Council girls (the 2nd wave of EN girls) Sana used to front a metal band but sadly left holo before we got to explore that side the next closest thing we have other than Calli is Hakka on boys side called Holostars and is a part of Tempest who is carrying the rock scene in Holo for now

Coming up with raps or this masterpiece for all of them as a group. Kiara also sings and ever brought out her first EP just last month with songs like *"Hinotori", "Do U", "Sparks"* and more. With 3D performances Kiara does shine more with dancing, coming up with her and other members their dance geography, she did so recently for the Hololive Splash party, where she performed the "Holotori dance". A collab performance between *Oozora Subaru, Takane Lui, Pavolia Reine, Nanashi Mumei* and herself. All these models have bird inspirations, so Kiara has been pushing at management on getting Holotori to collab on this song. Gura has an original song as well called "Reflect" or her collab song with Calli called "[Q]" (another song Calli did write with DECO). Gura does shine with gaming, specially Rhythm games. Just don't ask her math problems xD. Amelia has an original song called "ChikuTaku". Ame does shine with her creativity, coming up with new skits, like the infamous detective line up, getting a team together to create a Hololive VrChat world that still gets used even now. The girls did do an easter egg hunt, scavenger hunts, secret santa (still one of my favorite collabs they did, with all 11 EN members together), Ame comes up with interactive ways to do reveals of new outfits or stream ideas like shooting during christmas and thanksgiving. Ina also has an original song called "Violet", it's a really soft and beautiful song. Ina does shine more with her art. Coming up with some of Calli's cover art for her original songs, or any art piece really that Ina's mind comes up with, her streams are usually very cozy.

soft and beautiful voice? yup, thats gura. i can see that other people have already explained that this was HoloMyth, the generation that contains gura and calli that debuted together. while this was their 3rd group original, most people including HoloMyth consider this to be their generation song, the one that reflects them best. it's a great song. my favorite line is 'when forces say behave, instead we say be brave' for future reactions i have two suggestions: first Q, the original by Gura and Calli. Second: i recommend reacting to gura and calli's cover of King, but with a caveat that you should listen to some other cover or the original for KING first, because gura and calli significantly modified King to be their version, and you need to know the original first to understand the depth of what htey added to it.
I was very similar when it came to Vtubers and even streamers in general. Didn't care for them much at all, then all a sudden this crazy rapping pink haired chick debuted and released some cringe but catch ass rap. Next thing I knew I was a die-hard fan for all that she makes and fell in love with Hololive and Myth (Calli's group. The first En gen for Hololive) especially. Something was and is just truly amazing about them. They were the (one of) gateway factors to westernizing of Vtubers. They came into the whole thing with nothing to help them, and hearing their stories is crazy about the stress they went through to keep up to expectation and stuff. Next thing you know, they were (correct me if I'm wrong comments) the first Hololive Gen to have all members hit 1mil subs, and they did it record breakingly fast. I am particularly proud of how well Amelia Watson sounds in this because her journey as a singer has been ROUGH. She hasn't had any experience as a musical performer, and her past karaoke streams haven't gone very well. I had concluded that she was just tone-deaf until I heard her in this song. She blew me away with the quality of her voice. I knew that the others could sing (especially Gura and Calli), but Ame's contributions to "Non-Fiction" were actually stand-out moments and I was so proud of her that she did so well.

Most of these young women are not singers. Only Calli and Gura. The other 3 have found themselves singing for Hololive to varying success. Kiara';s voice is a human Kira (vocaloid), Ina's is sweet and Ame is, well, Ame. Their best collab, IMO, is Myth or Treat, but that may be because it is so topical and "on brand" for them. For some of them off brand I would suggest Bad End Night , especially for Ina in that one.

Something was and is just truly amazing about them. They were the (one of) gateway factors to westernizing of Vtubers. They came into the whole thing with nothing to help them, and hearing their stories is crazy about the stress they went through to keep up to expectation and stuff. Next thing you know, they were (correct me if I'm wrong comments) the first Hololive Gen to have all members hit 1mil subs, and they did it record breakingly fast. I am particularly proud of how well Amelia Watson sounds in this because her journey as a singer has been ROUGH. She hasn't had any experience as a musical performer, and her past karaoke streams haven't gone very well.
I had concluded that she was just tone-deaf until I heard her in this song. She blew me away with the quality of her voice. I knew that the others could sing (especially Gura and Calli), but Ame's contributions to "Non-Fiction" were actually stand-out moments and I was so proud of her that she did so well.
I'm gonna love having him check out "Wish of this Songbird" by Enna Alouette.

You should react to their performance
Most of these young women are not singers. Only Calli and Gura. The other 3 have found themselves singing for Hololive to varying success. Kiara';s voice is a human Kira (vocaloid), Ina's is sweet and Ame is, well, Ame. Their best collab, IMO, is Myth or Treat, but that may be because it is so topical and "on brand" for them. For some of them off brand I would suggest Bad End Night , especially for Ina in that one.
