      Funny you say that. GB News seems to dedicate its output at planting trivial issues in certain people's minds and then water them over and over to make them stick. As a result, we have a demographic that's totally incapable of dealing with a complex, ever changing reality.

    I totally agree this “woke” attitude is being forced upon students at uk universities. I sent my son happily off to university and the absolute nonsense he faced there was ridiculous. He also felt afraid to speak out about this for fear of being kicked off his course and out of the university.

    When these women (and some men) say "all transwomen are women and should be in womens sports/spaces/jobs" etc etc, what someone needs to do as an experiment is go their Uni course or job and tell them they are finished and to pack their stuff up. Simply say their space has gone as they had to make space for a transwoman in that class/job etc etc. Then see how happy they are to have transwomen taking womens places. It would be great to see their reactions when it affects them directly, and we can see how moral and true they really are.

      @liestricks ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those are the exception to the rule. And its not really social mobility since a lot of the successful minorities in the Uk comprise of people who already had similar success in their home countries.

    • @AndyJarman
      @AndyJarman ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The poorest performing group in UK schools are indigenous British boys.
      Any country that undergoes colonisation by massive influxes of foreign cultures damages the indigenous people.
      Apart from suffering from an unwarrented sense of entitlement to the land their parents (and they) were raised on, they also take the resources their forefathers have provided them with (their heritage) for granted and freely give it away for short term gain, unaware it is their birth right wing through the sweat if their forefathers.
      I live in Australia, Aboriginal people here are suffering the same symptoms for the same reasons.
      The English have never really rid themselves of the shame of being colonised in 1066.
      To this day the pronunciation of English is warped by a distinct class of people who do not belong to any region or place.
      Received English is consciously dislocated from place, is non-parochial.
      Words of French origin are used to intimidate and impress, Anglo Saxon is perceived as brutish - we aren't allowed to use Anglo Saxon in polite company.
      Ever tried calling beef 'cow' or pork 'pig' at the dinner table? It's "infra dignatum" and a "faux pas" to do so don't you know?
      Defeated people fail, state support merely weakens them further, denying them the ability to appreciate the value of something that has been earned, and engendering resentment rather than respect for those who have won more than they have.

    • @drew6194
      @drew6194 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Fundamentally, the language is flawed. A phobia is a debilitating fear of something, even though dictionaries, yes even dictionaries, are being re-written to alter the meaning of that word and many others. So, for example, I have arachnophobia. Truly, I am unreasonably afraid of spiders. I am not, however, afraid of screaming, crying men who wear dresses and have emotional breakdowns if you, no matter how calmly, inform them that having a penis (among a million other things) does not make them a woman. Honestly, I cannot possibly fear someone like that. If our starting point is a complete discarding of language, pronouns very much included, then everything that follows has to be wrong. It's kind of a version of "fruit from the poisoned tree," which is a legal concept used to judge evidence in a court trial. Therefore, I am not, nor can I be, transphobic. I simply dislike their cause and consequently, I dislike them. This hasn't always been the case with me. These people have changed my outlook on them, which seems to be a contradiction of their stated aims. Or is it?

    Looking back to when I was a child, anyone over a certain age was an adult… uncle , aunt. Miss, Mr or Mrs. …
    After I too was an adult I still thought of those individuals as much older people as “adults” and although we might become friendly to each other we never became “mates”.
    Same is true when I met children in the neighborhood or family members; after they reached “adulthood ” the image of them as children was always there in the background as a barrier and we never would be called “mates”.
    Difference is if I had never met them as children and met the individuals as an adults then we could be “mates” or we were children together and grew up together then we could be “mates”.

    Massive hero of mine. I was brought up with western an understanding of western philosophy thanks to my dad and always taught the value of critical thinking. All he did was essentially prove the point he was trying to make. The students are not the problem. They are young an inevitably are going to rebel or think they know better. It's the adults that are the problem. There should be an absolute commitment at every university to promote academic freedom and faculties should tell students that if they don't like a professor because of their ideology or elements of their course they should leave and that a classroom is not a place where you should always feel comfortable but a place where if you are nor being challenged with at least one thing you think of as fundamentally true to your core your education has failed you.

    The method of selecting high performing candidates at university has nothing to do with free speech, or independent thought.
    It highly correlates to how easily you can be programmed.
    We are told to give back exactly the answer that the lecturer asks.
    This is not a place for independent thought.
    This I think is why university students have such a high level of this woke virus.
    They are singularly susceptible to swallowing and regurgitating stuff, whatever it is.

    The measure of true conviction is the ability to have your beliefs challenged- whether that is religious, philosophical, or scientific. Setting out to disprove a hypothesis makes your final position all the stronger. That's what separates these incessant ideologies from all else- they are built on pillars of sand. They know this, hence the 'no debate' rhetoric they cloak themselves with under the falsehood of inclusion.

    "If you're unwilling to change your mind about something, then the belief isn't held on the bases on evidence"
    That line made no sense whatsoever. I Can't change my mind about the earth being round because that belief is held on the basis of evidence. The same reason that I can't change my mind that a man is a male and a woman is a female. Yes you can have transition procedures to make you 'look' like the opposite gender, but the sex still can't be changed no matter what, hence why I think it's fair to have a third category in sports.

      You wouldn't see that here in Canada with the public broadcaster, CBC, either. In our case, what they do is dictated by the CRTC (Canadian Radio and Television Commission), supposedly a separate entity from the federal government but really isn't. I wonder if that's the case with public broadcasters around the western world. Their ultimate boss is the national government, and if the government is woke, so is the broadcaster.

    Beliefs themselves are essentially notional. They are not factual, evidenced proof, or appropriately balanced thinking. People mistakenly use the words believe and know interchangeably, which consequently causes unclear thinking. To be fooled, even by ourselves, we must first believe. To not be fooled, we must avoid beliefs, and use knowledge, experience and reason.

    Truth requires reasoning to be transparent. Reasoning demands evidence to become what it is. Reasoning without the dependence of evidence is only using feelings/emotions abusively or to be clear pervertedly.
    Hence Truth requires the two contrary means; evidence and emotions to be in synergy- like sails within the wind unfolding a push pull dance to provide the boat safe passage upon the waves;the boat is vulnerable to everything all in name of getting to the port. Can people be like that boat embracing vulnerability to become transparent so to get to those ports of truth?
