His leg control is cause he's got so much muscular strength to his leg stabilizers and the inside and outside. Pretty much strengthen your hip muscles the most. Your hips are your shoulders.

They actually did a study where high kicks above waist height will fuck your hip joint. Apart from front kicks. so side kicks and round kicks are the worst at real heights. However this is just a part of sports and probably only affects hihgh level practitioners. look at Chuck Norris and the others with hip replacements. that said I do neck bridging for wrestling which also fucks your neck up and am trying to get higher kicks as well. So what i'm basically saying is make sure you do a lot of prehab work for your hips. not that kicking high is bad..(which it kind if is but that's some bullshit)
Jovin Law definitely, rehab exercises should be used here; specific to your injured muscles. You want to work on strengthening these muscles which will help heal them faster. Do these drills with light stretching and slowly introduce isometric pnf stretches (no more than three times a week isometrics) light stretches in between these days, and rehab drills every other day to everyday. Remember to not fatigue your muscles before isometrics. I’m currently in your situation and this has helped me.

Been suffering from sciatica and have had to leave the left side kick behind. However I added the leg raise however (starting from mid point ) and I was instantly able to run side kicks without pain. Amazing, never though of practice it with the slight hover. Thank you 🙏🏼
I'm a bit of wrinkley (44) now and only 18mnths into my TKD journey and hips is definitely one of my problem areas so will deffo give these drills a go. Thanks for sharing

Poomse looks awesome. my master says I have good height, speed and power but my recovery back to ready fighting stance remains slow and not in good balance. do you have a clip to fix that? also...im an old fart with angry knees. any tips for that also greatly appreciated.
I started kick boxing but I then went on to muay thai. I find it amazing about the differences. In muay thai you can't do complex kicks because they can catch your leg and drop you. I have given up on hook kicks. Keep it simple
