I believe chichi is the only person he ever told he loved I don't remember him telling anybody else that but Goku only really shows emotion when chi chi is around cause for the most part he's either serious or funny around others
She has some sweet moments there too. The way she jumps down from the stands to run from him after Frost poison knocks him out. The way she worried over him when he lost control of his powers after the fight with Hit. The way she smiles after him, when he runs off with Whis. She fights but in the end if Goku really wants something, she'll never stand in his way.

Cell Saga is the best arc of Dragon Ball. I think Toriyama himself admitted that. Goku was truly portrayed as a hero. Loving Husband, fierce fighter while retaining the same goofiness he had as a child in Dragon Ball. I don't understand why Goku is shown the way he is in Super.
I think the main reason he is the way he is in Super is because he became extremely relaxed after dying and saving the planet multiple times. Essentially he's been there, done that, and he doesn't really see anything as a threat anymore, so its hard for him to take anything seriously. This has made him very aloof and less attentive to everything. Very rarely, however, do we see Z Goku come out in Super, such as when Black told Goku he killed Chichi and Goten in the alternate timeline while in his body. That must have triggered the PTSD he got from the nightmare about the androids killing his friends and Chichi. He is still capable of being serious, but he simply doesn't take anything as serious anymore now that he's basically a God. Mind you, I'm not trying to justify Gokus apparent stupidity in Super, I'm just giving a reason for why he is that way

I couldn't agree more. In DBZ, Goku always looked serious and a lot mature person who deeply understands the core of marriage relationship. But in DBS, goku was made to look like an absolute fool and childish and doesn't know anything about marriage relationship.
Man z was just something different. Felt like the writers actually cared about making a good story with believable dialogue and making the characters actually likable. Now in super everyone is playing a shonen anime stereotype with goku being incredibly dumb and only caring about fighting and vegeta is just always being moody and just wants to one up goku all the time.

In z goku trained some times but he also just chilled with everyone. The only times he trained for a long time was because it was necessary to protect his friends. Now goku just trains whenever he’s on screen and doesn’t care about anything else but that.

@@Jvm-iq2qe I think the problems for Goku's character (in terms of losing his serious/smart qualities and becoming a parody of himself) started at the end of the Cell Saga when he refused to be wished back. It would've been different if he COULDN'T come back and Gohan had grown into his successor as originally intended. In Super, Goku is almost unlikeable at times with how he doesn't seem to take anything seriously (and Z started going in this direction with the Buu Saga and the way Vegeta would address Goku so disrespectfully). Z was always careful to give us moments to show that Goku really did care a lot (for example, the nightmare he has about the androids killing his family; or the Dead Zone movie when we see how Goku reacts to the attack on them and the abduction of Gohan) despite his general relaxed nature and love for fighting.

Cell Saga is the best arc of Dragon Ball. I think Toriyama himself admitted that. Goku was truly portrayed as a hero. Loving Husband, fierce fighter while retaining the same goofiness he had as a child in Dragon Ball. I don't understand why Goku is shown the way he is in Super.

I think the main reason he is the way he is in Super is because he became extremely relaxed after dying and saving the planet multiple times. Essentially he's been there, done that, and he doesn't really see anything as a threat anymore, so its hard for him to take anything seriously. This has made him very aloof and less attentive to everything. Very rarely, however, do we see Z Goku come out in Super, such as when Black told Goku he killed Chichi and Goten in the alternate timeline while in his body. That must have triggered the PTSD he got from the nightmare about the androids killing his friends and Chichi. He is still capable of being serious, but he simply doesn't take anything as serious anymore now that he's basically a God. Mind you, I'm not trying to justify Gokus apparent stupidity in Super, I'm just giving a reason for why he is that way

In the original, Goku asks Future Trunks why he did “that”, referring to Future Trunks feeding a senzu bean to Future Mai via mouth-to-mouth. Vegeta misunderstands this, thinking Goku was referring to the “kiss”, and asks him if he’s never done “that”. Goku thinks Vegeta is talking about the bird-feeding and says no. Vegeta then points out that Goku is married, still thinking Goku’s talking about kissing. Goku asks him what being married has to do with “this”, still talking about the bird-feeding.

I couldn't agree more. In DBZ, Goku always looked serious and a lot mature person who deeply understands the core of marriage relationship. But in DBS, goku was made to look like an absolute fool and childish and doesn't know anything about marriage relationship.
Man z was just something different. Felt like the writers actually cared about making a good story with believable dialogue and making the characters actually likable. Now in super everyone is playing a shonen anime stereotype with goku being incredibly dumb and only caring about fighting and vegeta is just always being moody and just wants to one up goku all the time.
I mean those characteristics were true even in Z if even minute.
@@TheUnseenPath yeah but after each arc those things would change. After the buu arc vegeta stopped being as moody as before. Goku also doesn’t focus on fighting that much either. If his family or friends are in danger then he’ll give up a good fight for them. I mean in super in seems like all he does is train even tho that goes against master roshi’s teachings. In z goku trained some times but he also just chilled with everyone. The only times he trained for a long time was because it was necessary to protect his friends. Now goku just trains whenever he’s on screen and doesn’t care about anything else but that.

@@Jvm-iq2qe I think the problems for Goku's character (in terms of losing his serious/smart qualities and becoming a parody of himself) started at the end of the Cell Saga when he refused to be wished back. It would've been different if he COULDN'T come back and Gohan had grown into his successor as originally intended. In Super, Goku is almost unlikeable at times with how he doesn't seem to take anything seriously (and Z started going in this direction with the Buu Saga and the way Vegeta would address Goku so disrespectfully).
Z was always careful to give us moments to show that Goku really did care a lot (for example, the nightmare he has about the androids killing his family; or the Dead Zone movie when we see how Goku reacts to the attack on them and the abduction of Gohan) despite his general relaxed nature and love for fighting.
