It’s crazy how she just passed away, only a couple days after she published her memoir. I guess God figured she had a few more things to say about her life before she left. Thank you for almost 100 years Ms. Tyson. We will miss you truly ❤️

I never considered her a grandma. No one can take that spot. She is a legend!! An amazing actress! She had a mystique that I think all women should have. RIP. I’m buying her book too. I actually like memoirs later in life, I’m always confused why a 20 or 30 something writes a memoir when they have soo much life to live.
She is truly a lady with poise. We really don't give her enough credit she has given the world so much to her acting in movies. And I am grateful to have seen her work in my lifetime.

She is my favorite actress, a great American, and national treasure.
I first saw her in _The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman_ back in 1974 where her character is shown from ages 23 to 110.
Couldn’t leave us without us knowing her story.

Omg. She was suppose to be on some talk show this week.
I feel like I lost my grandma all over again . This really hurts. Some of us that didn’t have stable house holds looks at movies and saw her and connected with her as family. She gave me that feeling. Thank you for time on earth, your confidence, strength and bravery with writing this book, playing those roles on tv and living life regardless how tough it was. I thank you

I watched another interview wherein his band mate discussed his hostility towards women as well as his approach to leading a band. He also said he couldn't take direction which is why he became a bandleader. It sounds as if she challenged him, which he resisted. It makes me wonder how they each defined love. I think she deserved to experience a true, healthy and evolved relationship in all the years she walked this Earth
It's so sad seeing this after hearing of her passing. She really was a wonderful person. She helped get the black acting community to how it is today. Rest in Peace, Cicely
What a majestic woman. I saw her in passing in Manhattan and I was speechless 😦. The beautiful smile that she gave me just lit up my day. I have even more gratitude now for her fortitude to hold beauty inwardly and share it outwardly! God bless her ❤️

What a beautiful Legend. I just saw this the other day and asked my husband for her Memoir for Valentine's Day. I have watched her in the movie "Sounder" every year when it came on television as a child. I will have to have a Cicely Tyson day in the near future. Rest in peace. You have paved the way for so many others. I love you Legend!

I'm am a 54 year old black man and i could rember as a kid that anytime one of her movie came on tv my mother would tell us kids to all lay on the floor around the tv- and not just look at her but understand about your black history, something that was not being taught about in my school. I grew up watching her in so many meaningful roles. The ones that come to mind are : Sounder, Roots, The Autobiography of Ms. Jane Pittman, and The Trip to Bountiful. She chose such impactful roles. She rates as one of the best actresses of the last 100 years.
Holding back tears, this is extraordinary. Tmh works in mysterious ways, she left the world with her final thoughts. A book we all need to read. I can not wait. Rest in peace you wonder human 🙏🏽❤️😭

My fondest childhood memory of Ms Cicely Tyson was in the movie Sounder! But, The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, was just as awe inspiring! One fantastic and very stunning woman!
this little brown girl snuck and stayed up all 2 or 3 hours to watch it as my parents slept. i never saw any true performance until that moment. i was 7 and will never forget it. At the time I thought Miss Jane Pittman was a real person.
I remember seeing her perform on stage in Trip to Bountiful in 2014... I’ve never seen anyone (of any age) embody a character with such energy and life! She’s an absolute legend. Her work ethic was astounding. Rest well, Ms. Tyson 🙏🏾🌟 Thank you for all of the stories you shared with us!!
